[ Oh hey, it's a text from Prompto - made pretty quickly after the Silph Co bulletin. ]

I guess you guys saw that thing from Silph? IDK about that but I got one of their prototypes when I arrived. I don't know about all this designer baby thing though, it sounds really cruel. I mean they're alive, not some sort of twisted experiment. Well, they are.

And besides why did they call them something like Type: Null? If they made another Pokemon they could have chosen a super cool name, or even one like Porygon and not an insult to these guys. Anima's a good boy, even if he doesn't like battling - but there's other Pokemon like that.

Aaanyway, if you have any questions about Nulls ask me and not Silph Co.? I think taking some on is a good idea, try and show them what it's like to not be kept by that company?

[ Attached are like... lots of pictures of his Null, Anima, mostly ones of him having fun and playing - even if it's clear that in the sun, the Null seems to be very uncomfortable. And tellingly, there's no shots of the Null in-battle.

Though the day, Prompto is near the Pokemon Center with his Null - keeping the chimera close, trying to keep his nerves down. Why... him? ]

As soon as Noctis saw the announcement, he'd asked the owner of the restaurant he'd been working in since they arrived in Goldenrod if he could cut his shift short. The man had been alright with it so the Prince had darted off once he'd finished what he was working on, heading for the Pokemon Center since he knew that's where Prompto had been picking up shifts.

A synthetic Pokemon..made in a lab. That explained so much about Nu--about Anima.

When he arrived at the Center it was with Shepard and Bean in tow, both Pokemon looking uncharacteristically serious..thoughtful. It was a mix of those two. It wasn't hard to find the blonde and Noctis immediately slowed his pace so he wasn't barreling at the other, making his way over to where his boyfriend was seated with his Null.

"...Hey."

Of course, Prompto was expecting to see Noctis - though not this early. Honestly, he had hoped he could clean up - slight anger still flickering in his eyes, as Anima noticed Noctis first - giving a gentle growl. It was so rare that the Pokemon talked, even if he'd been becoming braver. It took Prompto a moment to look up from his phone, but when he did, there was no smile on his lips - even if Prompto wanted to, he couldn't.

"Hey, Noct. You saw it too?" he asked - standing up and giving the other trainer and Pokemon a slight nod... and offering out a few scraps to Bean.

"Yeah, I saw it," he murmured in reply, stopping in front of his boyfriend as Bean accepted the scraps...and then promptly sat down so she could offer some to Null and Shepard both. Said Lycanroc let out a quiet rumble to Null, head tilted as her ears laid flat against her head.

Worried? That was an understatement.

"You guys alright?" Noctis asked, hesitating for a moment before he reached out to rest a hand on Prompto's shoulder. "No one's bothered you since the announcement or anything, right?"

"N-nah. I sent out a text to everybody but... it's pretty fine? Nobody's been going after Anima."

He gently, however, begins to fiddle with his Mega Bracelet, fingers white - slightly shrugging at Noctis' touch. Anima gives a soft growl back to Shepard - no, he had no idea either - before going to share with the others - fish-like tail wagging.

"...Why?"

Why what? Prompto didn't know why he even asked why. So much was racing though his head.

Noctis shrugs slightly himself, his hand lifting from the other's shoulder to brush his fingers against the blonde's cheek.

"People like to ask questions and they get excited over stuff. I just didn't want anyone getting too pushy with you guys." Nor did he want Team Rocket getting involved. If anyone dared try and touch Anima..

Shepard shifts a bit closer to Anima, letting out another soft sound before she bumps her nose against what would be his cheek. Letting out a rumble of her own, Bean is ever the reassuring one as she gives them both Pokebeans.

Everything was going to be alright.

As Noctis rubs his cheek, he'd notice... it was slightly wet. Yeah, he's been panicking and crying.

"Do you think he-- Anima had a name before I got him?"

Prompto had dropped to a whisper - so that he didn't offend his starter. But Anima was more then distracted, not freaking out at either the contact or the friendliness. Yes, it'd be okay... Anima gave a soft purr, bumping Shepard back a little.

His expression softens--starts to crumble actually--when he realizes that Prompto had been crying and he doesn't hesitate to draw the other into a hug.

"I don't know...but I think the name you gave him is better no matter what," Noctis whispered back, rubbing the blonde's back as he glanced over at their Pokemon.

Ears perking up now, Shepard's spirits seemed to lift knowing that her friend was okay and she promptly licked his cheek before snagging one of the Pokebeans for herself. Yes. Yes it was going to be okay!

And then, he softly sighs - he couldn't get around it anymore. The reason he was creeped out - well, one of many. However, Prompto didn't want to pull out of the hug as he talked, slowly moving his hands to return it.

"Mind if we-- forget it. How long you have on break?"

If they were gonna be boyfriends - if Noctis didn't already know - then they should share everything. Even the things he didn't quite understand.

That's alright; Noctis isn't about to let go anytime soon.

"I took the rest of the day off," he murmured, turning his head to press a kiss to the blonde's cheek before drawing back just enough that he could meet Prompto's gaze. "Want to get lunch or something?"

Anything that can help distract Prompto, he's willing to do.

"That sounds good."

There's no enthusiasm in his voice, though, as he talks - moving to bury his head in Noctis, trying to stop his anger. Not just his anger, but his fear. "Wanna head to that nearby cafe?"

You sure that sounds good, Prompto?

His arms tighten around the blonde, keeping him close in a protective manner.

"Sounds good to me."

He just wants to be with Noctis, really. Even if he really wishes he could bury his head and cry and stop having to think.

But he manages to talk more. "By your lead, then?"

Man, Prompto is really out of it...

He gives a slight nod and slowly pulls back from the blonde, shifting so he can start walking while taking a hold of Prompto's hand in the process. He immediately laces their fingers together and gives his boyfriend's hand a good squeeze, letting him know that he's there and doesn't plan on leaving him.

Bean notices the pair start to move and rumbles to Shepard and Anima as she gets up, waving a paw at them to get them to follow.

Time to go~

He's not okay. But as he moves, he continues to fiddle with his bracelet.

"...Hey, Noct? When we... get there, would you mind taking off my Mega Bracelet?"

His voice seemed to crack (If Noctis did it it wouldn't be so bad but it would still be awful) - and Anima followed them, of course, grumbling as they were hit by the sun.

"Take off your.." Noctis trails off, glancing at his boyfriend and catching the way he's fiddling with it. Whatever the reason, it must have been something that was really bothering Prompto.

The prince nods, shifting closer to Prompto as they walk so he can wrap an arm around his waist now instead of just holding his hand.

"Yeah, of course."

"...Thanks," he said, making sure to walk super close to Noctis - his breathing still heavy. It really wasn't a long walk to the cafe - it was a small one, themed around Normal and Fairy-type Pokemon. Honestly, it was a place made to appeal to trainers like Whitney - it was weird that Prompto liked it so much.

But not too weird.

Smiling at the hostess, Noctis did all the talking and got them a table off in one of the back corners near the windows where he could watch Bean and Shepard who had taken up residence on the patio.

He let go of Prompto long enough to allow the other to sit before sliding into the booth seat beside him.

"..So..your wristband?"

"Y-yeah, sure."

He offered out his wrist to Noctis, to take it off.

Once it was removed - the Mega Bracelet slipping off - underneath was... at first glance, it might look like a tattoo. But the barcode on his skin seemed to be further imprinted then any ink could get.

Prompto looked ashamed. Even if he barely understood it, he shook his head. "Boyfriends-- don't hide things from each other."

As he removes the wristband, it feels like he's moving in slow motion. For a moment it does just look like a tattoo to him but there's a sinking feeling that quickly follows. He's seen that mark before; he's been briefed on what that mark is.

"..Prompto this..." But how? How could Prompto be..

Absently his thumb smooths over the mark as he focuses on his boyfriend's face.

"...Thank you..for telling me. Showing me."

"Yeah... you were gonna find out someday, right? Can't keep it covered all the time." he said - even if Prompto had planned that. He didn't want to disappoint Noctis, after all - or make him uncomfortable.

"That's why... me and Anima..." he said, trailling off - Prompto, for once after so very long, didn't feel like talking. But then, Prompto tries to smile. "He saw it first, you know."

There's no way you could ever make him uncomfortable, Prompto. He cares about you way too much for that.

"Still..I appreciate it." Seriously. It means a lot that you would trust him with this.

The prince lifts his boyfriend's hand, turning it so he can press a kiss to the mark on the other's wrist.

"Something for you guys to bond over, huh?" Noctis said with a faint smile before pressing another kiss to Prompto's wrist. "You guys are a good pair."
