New year's greetings, from the islands. Wrath and I had a lovely holiday.

[That sure is Lust in a bikini top, floppy hat, and sunglasses in a tropic locale.]

It was a rather quiet changing of the year, for which I'm appreciative. And the islands are pleasant, despite all the ocean around. I have gone in, if for no other reason than it turns out my young companion is quite enamored of it. The beaches here are different than the beaches in Johto, though, I rather like them.

And the drinks are certainly worth the trip.

[She lifts a fancy looking large tropical drink, adorned with fruit and an umbrella, into the screen's view.]

We'll be heading back to Goldenrod in a few days. Though if anyone such as family or my suitor would like to join us for the tail end of our island adventure, that would be perfectly alright at this point.

[Which is honestly less of an invitation and more her discrete way of letting the people who ought to know that she's perfectly fine and dealt with whatever she needed to deal with.]

With luck, we'll end this trip without Wrath getting anything horrible from the sea tangled in his hair.

It is a rather romantic destination.

I don't know if 'romantic' would be the way to describe our relationship-- I think romance was France's job.

But maybe we could make an island trip seem sexy for a few minutes before degenerating into delinquency.

Oh please, 'romance' is hardly a set in stone concept. We're all of us romantics, in our way.

Joint delinquency is as romantic and scintillating as anything else, in the proper context.

So what you're saying is me pretending to mistake every palm tree for him and going "whoa, Envy, you sure got tall!" every five minutes while completely ignoring the fact that he's standing right next to me is romantic?

Because that is, guaranteed, how I will spend most of the weekend.

I think the idealized, fantastical concept of romance that permeates stories and the like is overrated, anyway.

It's just...people. Who find something in one another that calls to them and they answer that call.

And you can never quite predict how and who it's gonna hit you with.
