Who: Everyone who wandered into the nightmare forest!

Where: Inside the nightmare forest!

When: October 22nd-29th

Summary: The culmination of weeks of worsening bad dreams comes when all that accumulated power is enough for the Pokemon to sprout an entire forest meant to trap people and harvest even more power. Now people from all over are lost in the woods...with very little distinction between what's real and what's not.

Log:

Whether by being drawn in or by simple curiosity (or poor decision making skills), people and their Pokemon have wandered in amongst the trees that have sprouted overnight. Only to find that once inside? There doesn't seem to be any way back out. No sunlight can pierce through the dense foliage overhead, but there is an eerie sort of green-tinted light with no source that gives people enough light to see by. The thickness of the woods varies--in some points it’s practically easy to move forward, and in others the trees are so close together that your character might have to squeeze between them. Phantump flit through the air and Drowzee can be seen occasionally running along the ground.

And in the background, a Trevenant and a Hypno watch. And wait.

Wait for these lost souls to finally drift off into sleep.

[Envy's been catching glimpses of little black figures, of eyes, of grinning teeth, out of the corners of his vision for days. He's seen the Gate in other nightmares, both his own and those of others.]

[But when Wrath practically bowls him over in the trees, when Envy catches hold of him with a startled shout and looks up, at what he'd been running from?]

[Every hair on the back of his neck still goes up, and it feels like his stomach is flooded with ice.]

[None of them have ever been able to get away from it, but Wrath most of all. His grip on the young homunculus turns protective, guarding. If only because it feels like he's rooted to the spot.]

Wrath--Wrath! I'm here!

_{[His first reaction when Envy grabs and holds him in place is to let out a shrill, feral scream and struggle-- but it's only a second before he realizes the arms around him are Envy's and not the grasping, ribbonlike ones from the Gate.]

[But even knowing that he's in the grasp of his sibling in sin doesn't dispel his fear-- for good reason. Neither of them are capable of defeating the Gate.]}

IT'S COMING!

IT'S HERE!!

I know, I see it!

[He doesn't want to take his eyes off of the thing.]

It's not moving [yet] so just...wait a second. We have to figure out what to do. We have to think.

[But even as he tries to sound like he knows what he's talking about, his tone is far from even, and since Envy's holding onto him, Wrath might be able to tell that his heart is hammering.]

_{[Sorry, Envy. Wrath, much like a real small child or dog, can sense fear.]

[It is very, very clear that Envy fears the Gate. And anything that makes Envy afraid, makes Wrath afraid tenfold.]

[His struggles only increase.]}

NO!

WE NEED TO RUN!

WE NEED TO RUN AS FAST AS WE CAN!

[Envy wants to run too, and the longer he stares at the Gate, even if it doesn't do a thing, the more he feels like a rubber band pulled taut.]

[The urge to get away is strong, and with Wrath struggling and shouting it's only a matter of time before that mental rubber band snaps.]

Okay...okay, NOW!

[He turns, grabbing at Wrath's hand and starts running himself. He's not going to let go of the younger homunculus--if he does, there's a chance he'll lose him.]

[He remembers what happened last time they encountered this sort of dream. That won't happen again, he won't let it.]

_{[AND AWAY THEY GO, two surprisingly athletic monsters hightailing it through the forest away from an extradimensional gateway that should be stationary but somehow isn't.]

[Leaping bushes, dodging branches and roots, just running for all that they're worth, however much that may be.]

[But the entire time? Wrath is hanging onto Envy's hand so tightly it almost hurts.]}
