OOC Note: There could be spoilers for the finale of RWBY volume 3 just about anywhere but ESPECIALLY in threads with Yang so here's her opt-out post as usual. She's really easy to avoid in this log because...

TEAM REMNANT CATCH-ALL!! That means ANYONE can come or go from the house if they're in the Goldenrod City area through the month of July. Generally no matter the day, or the event, but please coordinate with individual players of residents of this big house, and use the log below as you please. Bring us everything, new CR or old!!

(A - most days "Yang in there, baby")
[ On rare occasions, one can find Yang on the property's front yard, training with her Pokémon crew. She is definitely not as high-spirited and enthusiastic about it as she normally might, but they cannot grow rusty just because SHE is, and hey people kept telling her to go outside. This is good enough, right? ]

(B - 7/8 Flower Gift: "Looking a gift horsea in the mouth.")
[ The flowers literally blanketing everything looked pretty, but also looked like a big hassle. She's already witnessed people struggling to wade through them, or falling on their faces, and she knows that she wouldn't be able to swim through them. So Yang was carefully perched on a first floor front window, left side facing outside as she had one leg on the sill with her, and just... looked.

If white roses start to fall though, she's going to look really sad. ]

(C-CLOSED: Worry Seed: "More like 'Ticking Time Bomb'.")
[ This is exactly what she needed in her life right now. Insomnia. Nothing she could do was letting her get her much-needed rest, and this Firecracker's fuse is shorter than ever. She isn't the only one suffering; not that it's much comfort. Pray no one bumps into her as she's in between doses of coffee, trying to over-caffeinate on the off chance she'll be able to crash hard afterward.

No such luck. ]

(D - 7/29 Haze: "Yang gives herself a hand!")
[ Oddly enough, Yang is out and about today and seems... better? The lapses in memory mean that while she's still walking around missing an arm, she's come to accept it because she cannot for the life of her recall the associated trauma that caused it. Like "okay, something happened, but oh well, just have to deal with it however!"

It will look super weird to anyone that has seen her since the beginning of June; since everyone returned from the Moon to this world all scrambled.

Today Yang's going to be doing some shopping for various tools that can help her get by with her disability, and she can also be seen leaving the PokéCenter with a hard case strapped across her back, about the size of what would fit a violin, but not as shapely. ]

(Mostly) Anytime before the 18th

[Yang's not the only one to take advantage of their sweet new yard to train her Pokémon. Not exactly normal training, but training her small swarm of Doublade in a decidedly non-traditional battle method, at least as far as Johto's concerned.]

[She can also be found taking advantage of the new space to let roughly all her Steel-types out at once, giving them all a good rub-down and polish while her Vaporeon and Dragonair make use of the pool.]

Sleep Mode Disabled - July 15-17

[So, on the list of People Who Don't Handle Sleeplessness Well: people who didn't HAVE to sleep at all until arriving in Johto.]

Why.

[She's tried intense training with her Pokémon, and cleaned every common area of the house as much as possible. Plan C? Attempt to read in the library.]

[Given that she's flat on her back on a loveseat, feet dangling off the end and a novel resting open on her face, it doesn't seem to be working.]

Installing Updates, July 18-25
[ Sleeping for an entire day after three full days of no sleep? Not too unusual.]

[An entire week? Might be cause for worry. Especially when the sleeper in question is not only asleep but completely unresponsive.]

[Just be careful if you choose to investigate. Penny's room currently also contains her Vulpix and Galvantula, both increasingly in watchdog mode as the week progresses.]

[ ever since the moon, Penny was usually one of the first ones awake, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and absolutely infuriating for someone who has had terrible luck with sleep lately. but Yang was already heading past her room to a pantry for something when she thought it odd that she could hear Pokémon inside murmuring about.

so Yang knocked. ] Penny? You still in there? It's almost breakfast time.

[No answer, at least not from Penny. After a second, though, there's the sound of a tiny vulpine paw scratching at the door, and a thin mewl of distress.]

Piiiiiiiiii!

[ that's odd. Yang is already twisting the handle and entering as she announces herself. ] Penny?

What— [ yes there is a worried Pokémon to deal with, but more importantly, she's looking for signs of Penny up and about and finds quite the opposite. ] Oh, c'mon, don't tell me you're still sleeping off that stupid whatever effect.

[ she mumbled to herself as she went over to the bed. ] And I thought I was exhausted...

[The Galvantula resting on the covers over Penny's midsection chitters defensively as Yang approaches, but doesn't move to attack. Yang's a friend, more or less. Spiders that attack friends don't get treats.]

[Penny's Vulpix hops up on the bed too. But Penny herself? Still nothing, unless deep, steady breathing counts.]

[ Yang holds up her hand, and Jolty makes an appearance. She has started to hang out back in her old nesting spot more and more now that Yang's had help taming it. The braid she is currently sporting stops just shy of wrapping everything up, so she's as snug as a bug in... a lot of hair.

Point is, she's communicating with the others trying to get an idea of what the problem is. Yang just moves carefully over to the bed, careful not to startle the small fox. Instead, she wants to give Penny's arm a gentle shake. ] Hey, come on... Rise and shine, and all that.

[Ohai Jolty, Amber still recognizes her own offspring. Have a tiny affecionate spark of electricity and some chittering to the effect of "SHIT'S BAD".]

[Flynn, meanwhile, curls up tightly next to Penny's head and gives her cheek a small lick before letting out a quiet, drawn-out whine.]

[And Penny herself still seems pretty checked-out, sorry Yang.]

[ the combination of body language (human and otherwise) sets off alarms in Yang's mind. she first checks for Penny's pulse (thankfully she HAS one now, and it's still there) and there is indeed breathing.

but it's not a Friday and no one's such a deep sleeper that they can sleep through a gentle pinch to the arm so... it's time for Yang to express that panic. this is not happening. this can't be happening.

she backs up and turns to shout into the hallway. ]

HEY! HEY, ANYONE! COME TO PENNY'S ROOM! NOW!

[Ruby was running the instant she heard the panic in Yang's voice, but when she heard Penny, Ruby's own panic spikes, and she nearly trips over her own feet as she stumbles into the room.]

I'm here!! What--...

[Oh. Oh no. She looks from Yang, to Penny's pokemon crowded around her, to Penny, then back to Yang. With each glance Ruby seems to grow paler and paler.]

What... what happened?

[ Yang shifts aside to avoid being bowled over, but rests her hand on Ruby's hand because... well of all the people that could have responded, this was probably worst case scenario. one she hadn't considered. ]

Listen, Ruby. She's — she's not gone, but she's not waking up, no matter what I do.

[So that's a thing now. Amber tenses for a second over Penny's body because HOLY COW are you moving fast, Ruby, before relaxing again. Relatively.]

[Flynn let's out another keening sound of distress, because WHAT HAPPEN. To the little Vulpix's credit, though, he's not moving.]

[Gone. Tears sting at Ruby's eyes just at that word, because all she can think of is the tournament, seeing Penny broken and too-still on the arena floor, eyes wide and dim...

She's not in full panic mode just yet, but Flynn's distressed sounds sure aren't helping her as she anxiously runs a hand through her hair.]

B-But she has to wake up! Maybe... she could just be sick, right? Let's go get a doctor...!

[ there's a lack of sympathy there if only because Yang's experiences with doctors, on a human level, have been poor in this world. ] What, the same ones that had my arm just waiting for me when I woke up here? I don't think they'll be any help.

[Okay, a young woman even more distressed than Flynn is. One he knows, too. He gives Penny's unrespoe face one last lick before hesitantly hopping over her and off the bed, planting himself firmly at Ruby's feet with a quiet, worried sound.]

[It's like deja vu, if deja vu were a Pokemon and evolved into "this time neither of you physically can sleep, and also all that other shit that happened between you" which seems like a really unfair escalation honestly.

But she's here and she's too tired to be super nervous about approaching Yang or anything. Everyone's got eye bags like they're on sale at the mall jesus.]

Any luck with the coffee?

Nope. [ Yang isn't about to break the coffee pot in a fit of rage or anything, but she sets it down heavily on its cooling mat after having poured the contents into the tall mug. you know it's a bad day for her when she leaves out the cream and sugar. ]

I don't know how the hell Oobleck does it.

Maybe after enough coffee you just transcend sleep entirely. Or maybe that's just his Semblance. [Would anyone actually be surprised.]

...you know, after seeing him in action, I couldn't tell you. [ she'd follow it up with a "poor Zwei" but that dog was tough and could handle a lot of things. if only he was here now. Yang almost smiled at the thought. almost. ]

[Zwei is too OP for pokemon world.] Coffee's as good a Semblance as any, I guess. [There's obviously probably more to it but like... shrugs abt Remnant.]

[ he would need his own class, for sure. ]

If you... were coming for a refill, this was the last of it. [ Yang swirled her mug around. the carafe is empty and the bin of grounds is bone dry. ]

[A heavy sigh.]

Time to try to crash again, I guess.

You can have some. If you want. [ the words come out quick; like she had considered not saying them in the first place but it had been too late to stop herself. it's not like she was being unkind to Blake without her own reasons for it but... outside of sending the birds along with Weiss to retrieve her upon arrival, and a few other subtle gestures here and there, this would be the first time Yang reached out to offer anything to her former partner. ]

[Blake's eyes widen in surprise, then she holds out her mug. She's not about to argue.]

However much you're willing to give me.

[ pouring this is... an adventure, but she manages to split it evenly without spilling too much. once it's done, she licks up the drops that spilled over the edge of her own mug before taking a long swig.

god, it's SO BAD when it's like this, and Yang's face doesn't hide how she feels about the bitter taste but. to do what must be done requires some sacrifices. ]

[TRUST HER, BLAKE IS... WINCING HER WAY THROUGH THIS TOO.]

Weiss and Oobleck are wrong about this stuff. I don't care what they say.

[ coughs. ] Well. If someone hadn't gone through all the sugar already. [ they really ought to figure out how to better stock up on food now that it's a thing they need to also worry about.

another failing: staggering laundry duties. ] ...crap. I just realized all the sheets are wet.

[Look Blake is great at living on her own but she has no idea what to do with like. A house. And living together with people.]

There's always the floor. Or the couch.

[... she also has way lower standards for places to sleep than anyone else here. And is way too dead tired on top of that.]

Blake, we have a house. You're not sleeping on the floor. [ like what kind suggestion is that anyway? Yang had always imagined the faunus hiding out in some abandoned buildings or in the alleys under cardboard boxed after running the second time. depressing as the mental images were, the other associated feelings are what she pushes aside in downing the rest of her half. ]

We'll have to split it. It's big enough for that. [ she is severally underestimating the only non-bedroom furniture they have for this. ]

[Floors may not be comfortable, but they are sometimes necessary. But she finishes her mug, shudders, and nods.]

Sure. I can keep myself from taking up too much space, too.

[ Yang almost quips back with how she obviously takes up less space now, but swallows that morbid comment. ] Do whatever's comfortable. [ because Yang is going to try her damnedest to get some sleep without being obtrusive but she also isn't going to put her neck at a weird angle or anything.

her own mug down on the counter, she made her way into the living room and said couch, flopping down on the side so that she can rest what's left of her right arm on the cushion and leaving Blake to take her spot on the left. it really should have been bigger, but it was on sale... ]

[It's been...over a week since Yang's drunken broadcast. How do you respond to that? How do you...anything, when someone's hurting that bad? Ashley didn't know, so she kept her tongue. Now, she regrets that.

So, it has taken some time, but Ashley's worked up the nerve to go and visit. Yang's outside and training, so it's not like she can give herself a pep-talk at the door, unfortunately...but she has her Nidorina with her, who every so often nudges at her leg to keep her going, and a...rather large bag? It seems she has prepared.

At least, the best she can.]

Um... Hi, Yang.

[ Yang normally would have made some kind of follow-up apology broadcast, but honestly? short of making a fool of herself in semi-public, she regrets nothing about what happened that night. some things got out that she'd still kept bottled up, she had gotten a stern talking-to at least once, got to meet some people in person she hadn't seen (or at least not in a while).

so if downing a pack of beer on her own and slurring at the network is what it took for that to happen, so be it. she's tired of being sorry. the world, in her honest opinion, owes HER and her friends an apology. she doesn't owe it shit.

but that still doesn't stop her from freezing up the second she hears that familiar voice. they hadn't talked in a while either; not over the 'gear or in person, but she's been. around town. that much Yang knows. locking up is that brief, knee-jerk reaction that either Ashley saw that post and judged Yang for it, or that she sympathized and that's why she's visiting with... presents?

the sight of the bag catches Yang's attention second, and she relaxes. relaxing causes the muscles of her arm to relax too, and the new prosthetic hand drops the ball it had been holding. her new Houndoom takes this as close to a throw as will happen, so it snatches it and takes off running around to the back yard. ]

H-hey! Drei, I wasn't— ready....

[ Yang cleared her throat, the only other sound made being the faint whirring of her new hand opening and closing as she concentrated on flexing her muscles. ] Ugh. Stupid thing.

[Just like it was hard not to notice the absence of a hand, the new one draws Ashley's attention. A prosthetic? Part of her wants to ask to look at it, from pure curiosity, but that's VASTLY outweighed by hre common courtesy and sense.

Again, her Nidorina nudges her forward.] Beatrix, I'm going. Uh. Hey, I just...he's growing really fast.

[Of course she recognizes the Pokémon. It's Ruby's. ...Or, rather, it belonged to Ruby, before.]

Who is? [ the comment seems to apart from everything on Yang's mind right now so it leaves her confused a moment. until she saw the Pokémon urging Ashley along and nodded. ] Oh. Yeah. They do that.

[ she has one. most people know that. Yang subplexed her Nidoking once. it was awesome. those were the days. ]

So, uh. [ she made to gesture with her right arm since the elbow was already locked at an angle, then with a heavy click she bent it inward and clutched it to her chest. like crossing her arms, or rather just hiding it from view. ] Welcome to the house. [ a pause. ]

[Well, she is more referring to Drei, but maybe talking about Ruby's former Pokémon isn't the best idea. Ashley simply clears her throat and latches on to...the house, that's a good topic, isn't it?]

It's nice! It's, um... I'm glad you guys got it. [She's the one who said putting down roots is bad, but-] Something, you know, stable. It seems good. [An attempted smile crosses her face, but her heart's not really in it. After another nudge from Beatrix, she makes her way closer.] Really. It looks so cozy.

[She glances at the bag she holds, and then abruptly holds it out to Yang.]

It's still mostly empty but... yeah, it could be cozy eventually. I'm not really doing any decorating. [ for more-or-less obvious reasons.

what's quite obvious now is the proffered bag and how Yang steps forward to take a look down into it. she won't grab it yet; no idea how heavy it is and if she'd need both for it, though the reflex was there to reach out, she suppressed it. ]

What's this? [ not to sound ungrateful. surprised, more like. ]
