McGucket doesn’t eat all the paper. He’s just taking it off with his mouth and chewing it absently as he claws the box open. He reaches inside, and he pulls out the hat, and his eyes go round.

“My my my!” he cries. “It’s like the one I pulled off a scarecrow, but it's better!” Fiddleford pulls his old hat off and immediately plunks the new one onto his head. “You sure got fine taste in headgear!"

He springs back up to his full height, then waves to his Trubbish.

"Buddy! Buddy, git on over--aw, heck, did you eat too many bean cans?"

"Trub....trubbish," Buddy admits. Maybe a few.
