"Yeah..my former master encouraged it. Wanted me to be as strong as possible so when I finally crossed paths with Ventus we could forge the X-Blade without fail," Vanitas drawled, rolling his eyes slightly like it was nothing all that important but even now it made him feel weird. It made something inside him ache. There was a sense of longing that he couldn't shake even after almost a year on his own.
