"I used to be more interested in it. When I was younger, I wrote true crime stories. You learn a lot about what people are capable of when you do research for that."

He shrugs slightly.

"But after....everything I decided to give that up and move to fiction. Still human nature. Just, less reality to it. Or at least I knew it hadn't happened."

If writing horror had given him nightmares. That was nowhere near as bad as trying to write about real things after Silent Hill. Sometimes you had to take a step away.
