[The first thing Ford notices is the background music, which is not even a little bit like what normally plays on this island. The second is that he recognizes those fucking squid. They're in higher definition now and there's a lot more of them, but they look just like the being he got blurry photos of the very first time this place freaked out for a weekend.]
I knew it wasn't just a Frillish in bad lighting! [He has never felt more vindicated in his life. Finally, more people than just the other Legend Seekers members will believe him.
The one he saw before was also a lot less, uh... in distress? It sure didn't give him the same feeling of unease, but there's more of them this time and he's never liked feeling outnumbered. He didn't teach himself to straight-up shut off his fear response for no reason, though. Fighting unknown creatures from another dimension is kind of his bread and butter. He pulls USS Cyclops' ball from the strap across his chest. It's the best choice here: if it can just Wrap one of them it can probably incapacitate it without it being able to do much damage to anything else. It's also got nerves of fucking steel and will probably be able to handle that kind of close quarters. Probably. It's some wet algae piloting scavenged nautical detritus, it'll be fine. It emerges with a rumble that starts out theatrical and turns almost surprised when it takes in the scene. The fuck is happening. The fuck is this, the fuck are those?]
Don't panic. Use Wrap on that one there--
[USS Cyclops dutifully reaches out and grabs one of the Nihilego before it can get tangled in a kite string. Both Pokémon (if that IS a Pokémon) are clearly unhappy with this arrangement, but them's the breaks. It starts to pull the alien squid in, though not without a good degree of struggle. It's a bit like reeling in a particularly stubborn fish, if a fish flew through the air and was giving off a deep and abiding sense of tangible dread. If anyone else wants to help bring this thing down safely to where it might be able to be knocked out or reasoned with, get in there!]
