[ he's not into showing his face off. once he verifies there's a public network and an audio option, he begins to opt for that. but then he looks at all the videos of people and their pokemon, and decides o a different option.

the video opens on the sandy beaches of cherrygrove. his rockruff, bandit, is in the surf, chasing what looks like a stick. he brings it back to jack, who pets his head and then throws it again. his location will also ping as cherrygrove. ]

The name's Jack.

[ his voice is distinctly older, and very rough. it sounds like he may have damaged his throat at some point in his life. his hand, when he throws the stick or pets bandit, is gloved. ]

I've been looking around this place and it looks like the consensus is that people can't go home on their own. I'm not here to ask how to get home, since it seems like that's been covered pretty well.

I wanna talk to those of you that have gone home, or know people that did. And... for those that don't, how you're dealing with not being able to.

[ for those actually in his vicinity, they can likely hear jack make the post. other than that, he's spending some time on the beach, playing with bandit and getting his energy out. he's just as open to a battle if you two have similarly leveled pokemon.

The Thirteen-Forty Loader Bot! We found it in the Bloodshot Hideout. Its body was scrap but its core was fine, so we put in a Constructor. Then it tried to kill us, so we blasted the Constructor and put it in a WAR Loader! It tried to kill us again, so we blasted the WAR Loader and put it in a radio! Then it tried to induce suicide with the world's worst music so we blasted the radio and put the core in a shield! It stopped trying to kill us after that.

[Because that makes so much sense, Krieg. Even to people who know what Loader Bots, Constructors, and WAR Loaders are.]

jack actually follows the thread of what he's talking about - he figures it's an AI of some kind that can transfer its core into other things.

That... honestly, I probably would have given up around the second or third time. You turned him into a shield?

Yeah! It told us it was done trying to kill us and asked to be a gun or a shield. It was a good talking buddy shield for a long time!

Well, where I'm from we're still stuck on one planet and don't have any others to go to. Sounds like the other ones aren't as nice as we'd hoped.

They have round bulging eyes, they're covered in spikes, and they eat and shit from the same hole.

Only Vault Hunters go there on purpose! But everybody gets stuck. The army and the industries left their cannon fodder to rot and cannibalism, and Hyperion baits Vault Hunters with sick loot and waits for the bandits to slaughter them.

[It's such a cheerful place, really.]

So what are Vault hunters? Are they treasure hunters? It seems odd to refer to a Vault if that's all you're looking for.

We hunt Vaults! No one knows what's in them until they find them. Sometimes it's treasure! And sometimes it's a giant lava-puking monster!

...The monster was my favorite.

I'm not sure I'd be cut out for a place like that. But it sounds like you guys have a lot to do when you're looking for them.
