I know I can't have been the only one who ended up as a pokemon during the weekend. Which was a really unique experience, don't get me wrong. I certainly feel like I've gotten a better understanding of what it is like to be a pokemon, but.

Has anyone else been dealing with any... unusual urges since then?

As a response to Armin's question, Krieg attaches a video clip Fe Fe was kind enough to take to commemorate the brief return of his fire affinity.

The video is about 30 seconds long, and it features a 1v1 beatdown starring Murder Chicken and Krieg. The pair are engaged in their usual brawl-style fighting, which Armin will have witnessed plenty of times on the Island. The major difference now is this time, Krieg is on fire.

Literally on fire.

The friendly spar is punctuated at intervals by the usual shouted Krieg-isms (He's! On! Fire! and Melt for me, Pastycakes! featured among them) and maniacal laughter.

The fire burns itself out in the last five seconds or so, when Krieg manages to knock MC to the ground. The video ends with an extinguished (but still smoking) Krieg reaching out to offer a hand to help his buddy back up.]

Krieg! You were on fire! Bodies are not supposed to be on fire. And I don't even know what the best back-up shield means.

[He is going to be on big fire in the future, so listen to him, even though he hasn't experienced it yet or even knows about it.]

I know! It was great!

It's a backup because when my shield eats too many bullets I can set myself on fire and the fire eats the bullets instead of me!

[...It's a little more complicated than that but that's essentially what that particular special ability boils down to.]

I don't see how being on fire is any better than being shot at. Doesn't fire injure you just as badly?

Krieg... are you human? I mean, I always assumed you were because you never mentioned otherwise, but most people don't feel better the more on fire they are.

It's just not very usual for people to set themselves on fire and not die. Unless that is something everybody is capable of on Pandora...

Or if you get shot with incendiary bullets

Except me, I can catch fire when I shoot bandits with incendiary bullets, too

The more bandits I burn the healthier I get!

I have no idea how that works, but I guess... that's good? That you get healthier? Even if it doesn't seem to make any logical sense. But I suppose there are a lot of things that don't make logical sense, but are true nonetheless.
