"Well of course I am! I'm like everybody's cool dad!" Jack grins. He's always been a naturally paternal type, and takes great joy in the idea of being a beloved patriarch. It suits his chosen image so well.

"And I always look after my people, champ. You need advice, help, you get yourself in trouble, need a place to stay...whatever. You call Handsome Jack."

Besides, it's always a good idea to have people dependent on you, and he needs the loyalty of transplants.

On top of it all...he just plain misses his own daughter.
