It seems Victory Road's resident Princess of Pranksters is going a bit light on the shenanigans this year. She, of course, seems to be sporting an impressive curly mustache, lovingly cared for and sculpted into perfection with mustache wax. She has her free hand up to her chin in a sort of pondering gesture, while the one holding the 'gear pulls back to reveal...

Oh.

Jane, what the hell.

Poirot the Kricketune, of course, has his own mustache - he grew it himself - but that sure is a Ron Swanson-esque style being sported by Dinah the Audino. A gaggle of nine whole Milcery have little construction paper Mario mustaches that they hold up to their faces, bobbing in place and giggling. Peter the Scorbunny hops up and down, nose twitching the horseshoe mustache on his face. Even Deva the Indeedee, a bit removed from the group so as not to set Dinah off, sits with a stack of construction paper and crayons, sporting an absolutely ridiculous furry thing that connects into mutton chops on the side of her face as she doodles.

Jane's just grinning from ear to ear. Who knows how many other of her Pokemon are out and about looking as goofy as she?]

Ah, but it seems I shall have to shave it for later! I've got a brunch to make, after all! Toodle-loo!

[John sees the video before leaving his room and--right, yeah, it's the first. That's cute...he can roll with that. So when he comes out of the bathroom from his morning shower, he's shaved all the tired scruff he's been inadvertently cultivating: except for his upper lip...which isn't that visible anyway, as he's wearing an impulse-buy beaglepuss over his glasses.

He makes his way down to the kitchen for coffee in this getup, and where he meets Jane really depends on whether she's started brunch or not.]

[John answers this in a pair of Groucho Marx novelty glasses.]

Hm? I am not quite sure what you mean. We've all had mustaches for some time now!

[She's winking, though. The wink means it's a joke.]

[She totally has - looks like it's mainly a quiche? Spinach and bacon and pepperjack cheese...which she has Deva shredding with one of those big boxy graters. Dinah is pointedly not looking at them while pouring juice into a pitcher - orange and cranberry by the looks of it.

Jane's humming softly to herself as she cooks, turning around, and-

Oh! Oh, that's a lovely addition. Her smile grows warm. (And yes, the mustache is still on her, at least. The Pokemon found them uncomfortable and ditched them.)]

Oh, no no, I assure you it is quite manageable to tame with a bit of time and care...but it is one I feel I ought to pose at some point! Just not now.

[Her eyes sparkle, though, clearly appreciative of the puns.]

Your Pokémon do all seem rather... distracting. And hungry, not that I can blame them at this hour. Is everyone in your team participating in this lovely... mustache-y event?

We are all participating, but I do not see how this event of a day is any different than any other day.

I would have to respectfully disagree. We are all quite dignified in this household.

No different? How can you possibly say that, when you've found a way to prepare a brunch for your whole team, yet have obviously not been eaten out of house and home? Is that not an event worthy of remembrance and celebration?

Oh, that sort of thing I've got down to an art at this point. It's all about resource management and knowing who prefers to eat what - having a not-picky Grimer helps, too.

They absolutely do! Have you not seen a fellow sporting one and felt immediately that his presence made things feel more proper and great?

Oh, well, at the very least, yes, "some" are real.

[The Kricketune chirps and gives a little flourish. He takes very good care of his mustache, so of course it's real!]

A Grimer? I admire your tolerance and open-mindedness. The smell is unpleasant enough when the wild ones swarm my garden every Sunday, I cannot imagine dealing with it daily...

It's kind of morphed to a burnt-sugar smell, to be honest...and her sweet nature helps immensely.

[Gertrude is just a Good Egg, kind-hearted and wonderful. And a shiny.]

Burnt sugar? That's... admittedly not what I'd expect. Could it be influenced by what she eats, or have you found a particularly strong perfume?

I think it's the diet that influences the smell, actually - Grimer in the wild eat garbage and waste, right? She's slotted very easily into a domestic space, so she's adapted.

...Perhaps I should try feeding the local Grimer gangs cookies and candy, in hopes of improving the neighborhood's air quality.

I can't guarantee it would work, but it's worth a try!

It would be a costly solution, considering their numbers, but if it provably works, perhaps the city will take over and add it to its budget...
