[Steven snorts.] Any reason. Every reason. No reason at all. They take people because they want to use them for something. Often enough it's entertainment. To perform plays for them or to fight each other. Sometimes it's to be their drudges. Sometimes it's to be their friends--and God, do I pity those assholes. Sometimes they needs beasts. Or maybe they want something for their garden or some object d'art.

The worst off, though, are the ones they kidnap to take care of or oversee the rest of their captives.
