Do you believe it is the pokemon themselves who caused this to happen or perhaps people who do not wish the secrets to become known.

That is an interesting theory. I have been looking through what I can find about these creatures and it seems the have stuck a great deal of folklore in with their science. Which makes things difficult to verify. Do we know how many different types of these creatures there are?
