[Lust is broadcasting from the kitchen of the Ecruteak apartment she's currently sharing with Timothy. She's looking a bit frazzled and behind her....are cats.]

[So many cats. Twice as many Espurr as usually are roaming around in the background - most of them without the trademark bows and bow ties of Lust's brood - along with a number of Glameow, Skitty, and Meowth. From the looks of it, they've been having a grand old time getting into everything. Is...is that an entire box of cereal spilled on the table behind her?]

I don't know where they all came from! I opened the windows to air out the apartment and two hours later...

[She gestures behind her. As she does, a Glameow takes a loud, flying leap off of a cabinet onto Lust's shoulder. The 'gear is dropped with a mild curse and the screen is filled with curious, feline faces before Lust retrieves it.]

Let this be a warning to anyone else considering a ground floor residence.

I advise turning your attention to the answers that can be found. I study Pokemon biology - it answers some things, at least.

Some do. I couldn't give you any statistics.

Do you? If you ever have the time I would be interested in hearing what your studies have found.

I am a breeder here and my field before I came was also in biology. Though I focused mainly on genetics.

I am still getting used to just being in this place itself. ....Are so many children stopping to try and fight your pokemon a normal thing here?

[She's been going up the first route and it's really alarming to see so many little ones trying to fight her?/her pokemon?]

It is. That's what's done here. It's what being a Trainer is all about - and a Breeder is a type of trainer.

No, it isn't. All the information on battling and Pokemon's inclination for it are in the 'gear.

And I apologize for telling you to look it up, but I've been here over half a decade and have this conversation at least once a month. But it was the factual data and experiencing it myself that helped me understand it all.

That is fine. I will be doing a great deal of reading and research here, I understand this.

However, what I meant is... is it safe for the children to be out with these creatures fighting? I have seen many travelling alone and some seem very young.

Of course it is, why wouldn't it be? They aren't infants.

Because fighting is usually a dangerous thing that children should not be near? Even more so when the fighters can shoot flames or electricity.
