Most of the ones he caught in that first week have evolved, in fact; without memories of his home to anchor him there, he's quickly become fully-immersed in the world of pokemon. It's a relief in a way--being tasked by a disembodied voice to save the world is pretty serious business, and that nagging worry about the state of Hyrule is always going to be with him, but there's nothing he can do about it now.
