Claude...can't help staring. He's had a whole lot of experiences in his life, but...this is a new one.
He really should have run while the guy is distracted, he knows. It had certainly occurred to him, first thing. But if Claude has one defining feature, one overpowering strength and weakness...it's curiosity. He has no idea what that little performance was about - it certainly doesn't seem to have been for his benefit - but now he desperately wants to find out. He may not be able to, but...he can't bring himself to just cut and run without even a chance to investigate.
"You never said which way, sir," he says, trying for meek and grateful. He legitimately doesn't know the way to the nearest shop(and he's hoping it's some distance), this being his first time in Goldenrod and its mall. "Also, who were you talking to just now?"
