"Sort of?" Claudia says. "I mean, not like this, but one of the things people like is when their babysitters can do first aid, so at one point early on Kristy enrolled us all in a first aid class at the community center, so we all learned how to do basic stuff. I'm not used to doing it with Pokemon so much or with the kind of medicine they have here... but I am with kids? Getting them bandaged and giving them liquids if they've got a fever and just-- not freaking out, I guess. Because if you freak out, that freaks out the kid you're with. I think it must be the same with Pokemon."

(She remembers getting shipwrecked with Dawn during that long, busy eighth grade year and how Dawn did break down and Claudia hadn't, even though they were both babysitters. Maybe it's not just babysitter training that's helping her keep calm. Maybe part of it is her.)
