I agree. I fear it is a case of too many inexperienced trainers ending up with a Gyarados because Magikarps are so common everywhere and easy to obtain, not knowing how to handle them when they evolve or even how to give them proper stimulation and then being surprised they don't listen.

Hatterene is one of those newer pokemon, isn't it? I can't say I am very familiar with it.
