"Well, that might not be too big of a problem," Claude muses. "I mean, being jealous of his teeth because you miss your own is something I think he could understand...although it might still have been a little awkward for him, since I think his teeth have drawn some unpleasant attention to him back home. Both of the openly negative variety, and the fetishizing, questionably positive variety. He's not a big fan of either kind, so I'd guess his teeth definitely are a source of mixed feelings for him."

He pats Steven's shoulder. "In any case, don't worry about it. It sounds like it wasn't anything too serious, so it probably only caused a few moments' awkwardness for him at worst. And hopefully I've told you enough to be able to avoid any further, worse moments. As nice as his teeth are - and he does wear them well - if you're going to be focusing any attention on him, or showing interest in him, I'd go for his other features."
