Why is that every time I think my life can't get any weirder, it does? I need to stop even thinking that I've hit the limit on that. I mean, I finally start getting a handle on the exhausting danger of treasure hunting, and now I look weird and have a cat that likes to fight things!

For the record, that's totally not the appeal of cats. Cats are great because they're indifferent and lazy. Shilling is not either of those things!

But fine, if there's one thing I've learned over the last couple of years, it's how to roll with the craziest punches. So let me introduce myself: I'm Louie Duck, and my cat - I'm sorry, my Alolan Meowth - is Shilling. We're heading out from New Bark Town.

This is going to be a lot of walking, isn't it?

Oh, yeah? A friend of mine grew up like that, not getting out much.

[Webby didn't know how to ride a bus properly, so he wouldn't be surprised someone sheltered may not know of Duckburg.]

And yup, mostly ducks of course, although there's a good amount of dogs living there, too, and of course there's other people.

Interesting...where I live always had a pretty huge variety of animals living around. Canines, felines, birds, even aquatic folk living near the sea areas.

No humans, though. I didn't know what a human was before coming here.

Yeah! No humans where I'm from either, and now we have to be humans? What's that about?

It's very strange. I wouldn't have minded so much if it were just...humans being here, but having to be changed hasn't been something I've enjoyed much.

I will say you do get used to it after a while. Or...as used to it as you can, anyway....since there is inevitably going to be parts of you missing. Like your feathers, or my fur.

I hate my feet now. They're the part that I don't think I can ever get used to.

But I've adapted to weirder stuff. So yeah, I think you're right. I'll adjust.

[Legosi can't relate to that as much, seeing as how his feet actually weren't that different from the way they are now. He can imagine for a bird- a duck in particular- things are a lot more difficult, though.]

Have you been through something like this before? You seem to be taking it all in stride, relatively.

Yeah, my life is weird. I haven't done too much that's super close to this, but magic and danger and all that aren't new to me at all.

The only thing I've not experienced is magic. Magic doesn't exist, where I'm from. Plenty of people here seem to have experience with it, though...so it's hard for me not to believe it to be true.

That doesn't sound totally awful, honestly? I'd say about 70% of the magic I've dealt with has been a pain.

Usually, yeah.

So if there's no magic where you're from, I guess we're not from the same place. I mean, it's not like it's a secret where I live.

I suppose not...but if it is any consolation, it is nice for me to know that my world is not the only one populated by animals. Those with humans seem to be a lot more...numerous.

Yeah, it's really weird! Especially because we don't really have anything like humans, at least where I'm from. Not at all. But in most cases, it seems like they have the non-people versions of animals like us. It just seems weird.
