"Hey!" Felix scowls. "Sylvain doesn't act stupid! He's the smartest person I know. You said he was kind to you, why would you say that? He's smart and funny, and warm and kind. Don't say he's stupid."

Felix falls quiet after his outburst and glances away from her. ...he misses Sylvain. And Dimitri. If he thinks about it too much, he'll cry.

The sudden outburst has her startling, all other expressions on her face disappearing into a mask-like affect. "Whatever."

Fine, if younger Felix is going to be like that, she isn't going to help him. She turns to start walking away.

Felix frowns. He sort of wants to challenge her to a fight for insulting Sylvain, but at the same time, they know two different Sylvains. It could be possible that for some reason, adult Sylvain does act stupid, although Felix can't imagine why he would.

"Hey, wait. What do you mean, he acts stupid?"

Kayo reaches deep inside of herself to summon a well of patience. "I mean what I said. He acts stupid. He flaunts himself around and says stupid things that he doesn't mean and flirts with girls he doesn't like. He isn't stupid, but he acts like he is."

Which makes him stupid anyway, in her book, but she manages to bite her tongue on that part to avoid this kid trying to hit her. She turns to look at him and blinks. "You're calmer as an adult."

Felix barely hears the rest of what she says after flirts with girls. That can't be right. His insides clench and an unpleasant warmth rises to his face.

"I thought...I thought you said we got married. Everyone said that. I saw the pictures. What do girls have to do with anything?"
