Auctions are an event where objects (and, in this case, dates) are sold to the highest bidder. They announce the next item, everyone who's interested calls out how much they're willing to pay for it, and it goes to whoever is willing to pay the most. It's an extremely popular format for art sales.
The more money you have, the higher you can afford to bid. Not exactly fair to the other participants, but I'm sure the charity getting the funds will appreciate it.
I'm not sure how exactly it'll go, but generally people volunteer to sell their time. Whoever wins it gets to spend a few hours with them.
I mean, they're supposed to do somewhat romantic activities during that time, I guess? Fancy candlelit dinners and the like. I don't think spending that time watching the news report together will cut it.
Dates, as in the romantic outings that are going to be auctioned off to raise money for charity. Well, maybe not entirely romantic, depending on who's offered and who wins.
Ah. As it happens, the word 'date' has multiple meanings. One of them refers to a specific day, yes, but another is an appointment, usually of the romantic kind. They're only auctioning off the second sort.
In fact, a 'date' can also be a fruit, but I don't think they'll be selling those.
Probably! Unless they made plans a long time ago and can't make it. Or my dear partner will probably try to find a reason not to go but I'll convince him.
Things from before he became my dear partner. And a dumb mean fake, but the fake is gone now and even if the fake came back Jehra Glen and me would zap it until it went away forever.
[such confidence from the ten year old pink thing]
Also he gets sad when Mister Sion is sad, but I haven't figured out how to fix that yet.
