Isn't acknowledging that I can and will change my conclusions based on new information more or less the same thing? Having a working theory isn't the same as saying "this is fact". It's saying "this is what I believe is true based on the current knowledge I have". The answer is potentially subject to change.
But an "I don't know" is more nebulous than "I have a theory". It doesn't offer anything - no starting point, no guidance, not even an illusion of stability. And mortals need those things. Sometimes you need a foundation to build from, even if you might need to tear it all down later to alter that foundation. I'd prefer to build and rebuild a hundred times over than sit among the construction materials, agonizing over making sure the foundation is conceptually flawless to the point that I never even start. And since mistakes are their own teacher, then the architect who builds and tears down a hundred buildings will learn a hundred times more than the architect who strives for one singular, flawless creation.
...but let's set all that aside for a second, because the question of ghost pokémon really interests me. Why do you think human ghosts would turn into pokémon? As far as I know, humans and pokémon are totally different species, with no crossovers anywhere else. So how could human spirits turn into, essentially, another completely different type of being, just as a result of dying?
