[ Byleth does wake when he lands, the sound of the bird's wings is plenty, and he blinks awake with a sleepy look at first. Looking up at Dimitri though, his face brightens immediately. A warm smile, the kind that actually reaches his eyes. Carefully moving the still sleepy Shinx from his lap, he stands, walking over to the man to look him over. ]

[ It's all he says at first, a bit awash with just how much he had missed him. Feelings he's still getting used to. Those 'bright spots' that still leave him exhausted on occasion. Somehow, despite having just slept on the ground, his clothes manage to look elegant, a white flower still tucked behind his ear. Back home, it would probably have people balking to do this, but he never cared much for decorum. This feels more like coming home than a monastery empty of all of his friends and loved ones, save for Flayn and Seteth.
Any other day he may have thought twice about it, but today he takes a few quick steps forward to practically collide with the man in a tight hug. ]
