Blue flames lick along the little Ponyta's neck (which she is streeeetching out in attempts to eat JW's sleeve.) He's all bundled up in a coat and his Sizzlipede can be seen poking out of the neck of it. The Ponyta has little socks on.]}

Loo-hook! Look what I got! Look what hatched, oh my GOD.

_{[JW hasn't been this hype about a Pokemon since he obtained Killer. His face is all wobbly with pride and excitement as he tries to heft the Ponyta up to get a better shot of her.]}

She hates the snow; if I put her down she starts crying and I feel like THE DEVIL! Oh my God.

_{[To illustrate he gently lowers her down to a snow bank and she instantly starts thrashing those long legs and squealing. Her terror doesn't last long though because James hefts her back up and she licks her lips, black eyes staring out into the Void once again.]}

You gotta walk sometime, little girl! Shit, what am I even gonna name you?

Yeah, my...first egg I ever hatched was a Duskull. I had to deal with a ghost hatching from an egg.

[As JW can imagine, it was. Weird. Weird even for Izuku.]

Having other Pokemon around is a great idea, though. Do you think she'll get along with them okay?

I'm sure she will, she's a baby. She doesn't know up from down yet, they'll teach her.

It's definitely very useful, for sure! And I know what you mean, favoring a certain type...for a while I was worried I'd just end up with nothing but grass types.

Well...I didn't ask to have a magic animal that I was supposed to take care of and unconditionally love shoved in my lap. Everyone I talked to seemed to be so okay with it. It made me feel insane...

_{[He makes a few half-formed gestures as he tries to articulate the sheer anxiety it gave him and how he didn't realize that's what it was.]}

Where I'm from, animals don't shoot fire or transform into bigger animals and they certainly don't knock each others' teeth out for sport on their own. Culture shock, I guess...

[Oh. Izuku never thought about how some people just might not be as on board with the whole Pokemon trainer deal as some. He was able to acclimate to it pretty easily because it suited him...but that's surely not true for everyone.]

I understand. That sort of thing...well, not usually with ordinary animals, but with people? It's very common where I'm from...almost everyone in the world has some sort of special power or ability they can use, so it was actually weirder to see that only the Pokemon can use them, here.

I hope you didn't feel forced...I would have been put off immediately too if that happened to me.
