First… Glow? [Video]

[So… you know Route 31, right? Nice quiet forest path, cute little pond, entrance to Dark Cave… way too many ledges?

A couple of days after the Snorunt leave their blessings (or “blessings,” in some cases…), the PokéGear feed will open up to… a yelp! A young, very feminine, oh-so dignified yelp, and a camera showing lots of rolling dirt, grass, trees, a rock or two, flashes of the winter noon sky, and occasionally a ball of pink coat and LONG moon white curls! (Hopefully no one in the audience has a fear of heights or vertigo.)

Thankfully, the fall only lasts a few seconds, and the audio of a groan after a few seconds lets everyone know both the PokéGear and its owner still function. Well, at least the camera does. The bad news… well, when Allura attempts to inspect device, everyone gets a good look at her mud-splattered face, AND at least three small branches jammed into her hair!]

Oh no, please don’t be broken!

[ Rainer, for her part, is feeling great! Ever since those little triangular guys came around, she's had some real pep in her step. She's even been feeling strong enough to get around without her chair for longer periods of time.

It doesn't seem like Allura is having such luck. ]

[Lazy Pokémon aside, Allura's yelp immediately caught Keith's attention, and her rather spectacular tumble that followed had him moving immediately to make sure she was okay.]

[He paused once he saw her moving again, worried about her PokéGear, standing near her.]

A-ah... hello, Rainer... [MY that is an impressive blush through all the mud on her face.] Y-yes, I'm fine. Just fine.

[And she means it, otherwise she wouldn't be fussing over the device first.]

[After fielding all the lovely responses to her video, Allura sees Keith coming for her and just... sighs.]

[And look, the little Swablu takes his cue to perch on her head, completely unscathed. "Blublu~~~"]

Oh, it's all right, Kirlos... [She reaches up with her free hand to give the cloud birb a little scritch.] You've learned. It's honestly rare for him to be this energetic. Playing with the Snorunt yesterday must have given him extra energy.

[Well, THAT was horrifying to watch! It looked incredibly painful, forget all the mess! He's trying to remain calm for the stranger's(?) sake, but there's still a sense of urgency about him.]

I would not be so worried about these devices. They are much sturdier than one might think!

As for the Gear... pardon her as Allura turns the device around a bit to inspect it.]

Aside from some mud and scuff marks... surprisingly intact, at least on the outside. I'll have to examine the functions after this call.

[Maybe a bag of rice before charging too, just to be safe.]

[Oye... she was a mess. Keith bit his lip and then offered his hand out to help her up if she needed it.]

[Well, if she didn't feel it right away, it likely wasn't a terrible injury. He crouched down next to her.]

Nngh... [A second or two to focus on the feeling...] Ankle. I think it's twisted but not broken.

[Kirlos the Swablu gives a few sad coos. This is kind of his fault, isn't it?]

[Keith gave A Look up at the little Swablu before making his move. Mud or not, he shifted his position, and then gently lifted Allura up into his arms.]

Good thing we're not far from Violet City then, right?

We'll get you checked out and cleaned up there, and then take a break. My Pokémon seem to want one lately...

[That last part was said with a slight stare over Allura's shoulder towards his Rattata, who seemed to have decided now was the time for a relaxing mud bath.

[Oh. Well now. This is familiar. Doooon't mind the blushing, Keith, just... pretend it's a fever, yes. Kirlos, meanwhile, hops off Allura's head and starts hovering, waiting for the humans to lead on.]

So I've noticed. They've been like that since the Snorunts came too, are they all right?
