And I guess Rhea thought Sothis would take over this body and Byleth would cease to be. She did not account for the fact that Sothis and I had become friends at that point.

She assisted me in my escape from Solon's spell by giving up her own power to me. I could no longer hear her voice after that, or see her, but she was still with me, in a way.

Anyways, she gifted me her power over the flow of time which I used to keep everyone alive during the war... as much as possible.
