talkyourwayout: (OhhhHHHH)

[Louie hadn't planned on creating a diversion - he never would want to take the role of live bait - but he's seen that tactic used enough in treasure hunts back home that he recognizes Hawks running with it. Scared as the kid is right now, he's also impressed. Yeah, of course someone who's job is literally "superhero" can combine quick-thinking analysis of a situation with the courage to put their safety on the line, but it's still cool. Plus, Hawks looks to be in enough control of the situation that the amount of actual danger he's in is limited.

None of this, though, distracts him from listening when Izuku reaches him. Even if the situation weren't pretty dire, Louie's not the type to fanboy... And besides, this situation is pretty dire, so these thoughts are all passing ones, staying at the back of his mind right now. He still stumbles to get his Pokeballs from his pack. Once he's managed to retrieve them, he nods to Izuku.

Ha'penny's ancient power and Shilling's power gem offer good options for ranged attacking, and so Louie releases those two by rolling their Pokeballs out, one at a time in two different directions. He's already talked to his team about what they're doing; what they're up against. There's always a little concern of Shilling deciding Louie's plans aren't offensive enough and attacking as he sees fit, but really that's happened maybe once since he's evolved. As the Alolan Persian crouches, his front paws and chest low to the ground and his eyes tracking the Braviary's movement, it doesn't look like the second time will be today. Similarly, Ha'penny is poised and at the ready as it watches the wild Pokemon.

Moorshire's next. Stonjourner does learn moves that can be used at a distance, but Louie doesn't think those are the practical options here. Not when Stone Edge would hit harder. So the last Pokemon isn't called out until Hawks has drawn the Braviary quite close. By that point, Shilling and Ha'penny have already begun to attack, unleashing a storm of rocks that buffets the Braviary and, Louie hopes, Hawks is managing to avoid.

Once the air clears enough, Moorshire slams one of her pillar-feet into the ground, which rumbles and ripples from that point of contact to the spot just feet away where jagged rocks emerge, bursting from the earth to hit the Braviary. Still, even with all of these attacks, the bird isn't down. Maybe it's flying is a little off-kilter, a little slower now; it's taken damage for sure... But it's also getting more and more angry, and Louie can't fight a tired sigh as he looks over to Izuku.]

You know, I figured it would take more, but it woulda been cool if that was it.
