[There sure is a fire in the middle of camp.]

[Okay, yes, true. There should be fires. Everyone is camping, after all. Those fires are vital to the health and survival of everyone currently in Hisui! So of course there's a fire in the middle of camp.]

[Except...]

[This is not one of those kinds of fires.]

[This fire is in the cooking area. Where some poor, unsuspecting Guild member let Shiro step in to assist... with predictable results. He was just supposed to be making salad.]

[Just a salad.]

[And yet?]

[The salad is on fire.]

That - that just means we don't know the reason yet.

Not that it's a curse. I mean, we didn't know the reason for the moon changing phases, but that didn't mean it was magic.

Oh, Dedue could surely help you! Of that, I am quite confident. He is absolutely incredible, you know - and I heard he helped a young lady at our old academy learn to cook when she thought she struggled with it!

I thought, of course, that her cooking was nice, but...

You asked if she set boiling water on fire, did you not? I believe Annette once did something similar... Or perhaps I was thinking of her melting straight through a pot? I know there was quite a bit of hubbub about it all back then when we were all in school...

Of course, we knew the reason then. Mostly. Her mind was often about multiple topics at once, and rarely that which was in front of her.

I believe that was the case, at any rate.... Dedue would know more of the matter.
