Harry has been in Hisui for a week so far and it has been mostly uneventful besides getting chased by angry wild Pokémon while doing mushroom, leek, and firewood gathering. Nevertheless, he and Lily (his Rowlet) manage to slowly grow together as a team and they are able to make some new friends along: by friends, they mean an Eevee who wasn’t afraid of Harry despite being too close while he was foraging for mushrooms at Obsidian Fieldlands and a ‘too curious for his own good’ Hisuian Growlithe he met while he was observing coastal Pokémon at Cobalt Coastlands and accidentally brought along with him back to base camp.

Then reports of a strange Pokémon called Bronzor begin to pop up that the Gingko Guild decided to assign him a mission to observe them at Coronet Highlands’ Stonetooth Row. Harry does have experience with magical creatures back at home, so he is not afraid to get as close as he could to see them, but he never expects to play Newt Scamander to the Bronzor until now. But hey, he gets to do something really important for base camp. So he, Lily, Violet the Eevee, and Godric the Hisuian Growlithe take the journey to Stonetooth Row and begin their quest of looking into the Bronzor’s behavior. Carefully taking his small team to a nearby bush in order not to scare off the mirror looking Pokémon, Harry settles down and begins to jot down anything he can see and find with them.

For every observation he can find, he carefully writes it down on his notebook with Lily taking to the tree tops and the sky to check on the Bronzor who are out of his sight and relaying what she has seen from her side. Violet is currently napping beside him, and Godric, well, he is too busy chasing his tail to amuse himself. Lily returns from her third flight scan of the Bronzor, hooting in what she is able to see.

“Ah, I see. The Bronzor have a plant on their back, I wonder what they are for in the first place,” he gladly takes note as he writes that down.

“Awww, look at her combing through Godric’s mane. He in enjoying it quite a lot from the look of things,” Harry notices the way Stoat is playing with his Growlithe’s fur bangs.

“Growl!” Godric happily barks at the idea of her petting his mane, he really likes it a lot.

“Rowlet, Row,” Lily is even more amused upon seeing her teammate getting a good grooming treatment from Stoat.

“Eivui, vui,” Violet squeaks in relief.

"Wow...I've never seen her do this kind of thing..!" Emporio cheers quietly, not wanting to startle the sneasel. "...I mean...Confetti is kind of a wooden ball, so I guess there wasn't anything to groom...but it's really nice..!"

Confetti, for their part, just sort of wobbles a bit on Emporio's hat. Yes, Emporio, they are still up here.

"BrrRSSZztt~"

It's fine though, it's cool up here.

“Growl, Growlithe!” Godric’s tail wags about as he happily takes in Stoat’s mane grooming session. Violet has her attention towards the wooden ball like Pokémon sitting on Emporio’s hat and she happily greets it in a soft enthusiastic voice. She doesn’t want the Bronzor to flee from their eyesight by her voice.

“Confetti looks like it’s having a time of its life,” Harry admits to Emporio while Lily flies again to check on the Bronzor and gather more info.

Confetti, blinking down at Violet, gives a cheerful little burst of explosive 'paper' slips.

"You're right about that..~ A lot of people seem to think it's hard to read them, but I think they make it pretty clear..."

The boy trails off, watching as Lily flies over to peek at the Bronzor.

"I wish I could offer more advice about those guys... ...I can share basics, since they're definitely the same physically, but..."

Well, there's perhaps a reason the job still has to be done after all.

“Oh sure, you can tell me what you have known of them. I am still trying to gather as much as I can about the Bronzor,” Harry readily accepts the offer of help as he gets some brief looks at the floating mirror like Pokémon.

Lily meanwhile flies around to see what the Broznor are doing at the moment. Scanning for any behavior, habit, or ability, she observes them like a hawk (despite being an owl Pokémon) and mentally lists down them for her Trainer to write down on paper.

"Alright!" Well in that case he'll do his best. Hopefully between the two of them Harry can hand in a full report.

"It came up before, but Bronzor are Steel/Psychic type- most would assume that because of how they float, they can't be affected by ground type moves though- which is something they're otherwise weak to. But that's only some. If Bronzor has an ability called 'Levitate', then it'll avoid those kinds of attacks. But some Bronzor can have another ability, called 'Heatproof'. This doesn't make them immune to fire, but it does halve the damage, which is important for them; that's normally another weakness they have. It's pretty handy, and normally in the wild it makes it pretty easy to find out which one they have."

He can certainly say more, just say the word.

“Oh wow, that is pretty interesting. I was stuck for a moment on how they’re able to float and manage to avoid several attacks. And I don’t see that many Steel types have that ability compared to Bronzor. Very impressive for a Steel Pokémon,” Harry agrees as he writes down what Emporio has known of the Bronzor.

"The floating is definitely because of their psychic typing...'Levitate' is something a lot of psychic type pokemon have, actually. The Bronzor line though is definitely popular- when it evolves it's really durable, and can take a lot of damage in a fight before it really falters."

A mirror like Pokémon that becomes an even more durable and sturdy Pokémon who handle any damage thrown in its path? That is more than enough to make Harry to become more impressed by the creatures he is observing as he continues to write down.

“Wow! I didn’t know that they would be very popular among trainers, but their evolution does sound like they’re quite resilient and sturdy against many damages. That is one brilliant Pokémon,” he admits to Emporio.

"It is!" And in a moment of relative positivity, he can't help but look out at the rest of the incline that they're on- down opposite the bronzor, and toward the other pokemon farther down the hill.

"...I think they all are, in their own ways," the boy admits. "Even if it can take some looking for some."

“Oh yeah, that is quite relatable to find some Pokémon for a good while,” Harry admits, “I didn’t expect to run into a Hisuian Growlithe like how I got Godric in the first place, but I guess that sometimes the Pokémon decides to choose who they want to be their Trainer by following their gut feeling.”

Godric happily growls as he blissfully wags his tail. Harry has no idea why would he wander off from his pack when he first met him initially due to how isolated most of the Pokémon in this region are from humanity, but he couldn’t help feeling glad that he gets to meet him regardless. Meanwhile Lily manages to fly back and reports about what she has observed from the Bronzor.

Emporio finds himself thinking of how he met so many of his ghost pokemon back home. Robo in particular just sort of...showed up to hold a tarp for him while it was raining.

The boy looks down- Stoat is still picking at Godric's fur, though she's moved on from the bangs at least. Confetti, of course, just buzzes from on his hat.

"...Yeah. They really seem to just 'know' things, huh..."

“I was also thinking the same thing as well. Perhaps they have a lot of smarts than most people would want to admit,” Harry also agrees when he stops for a moment to find Lily telling him about what she has observed on the Bronzor, several of which does confirm with what Emporio has said.

After he does a quick fact check, he resumes watching Stoat petting Godric’s fur and him happily panting his tongue in amusement. He must have wondered for a long while why do some Pokémon needed to be catch sometimes while other just simply walks into a Trainer’s life. That is a mystery he may not solve but he honestly doesn’t mind it one bit.

"They definitely seem smarter than normal animals...er...though I only really know birds and alligators if I'm being honest," he laughs. "I didn't see a lot of them where I lived."

Why alligators made that category is a mystery he will keep to himself. Unless asked, perhaps, but anyway.

A question rests on his mind though, and he ultimately can't keep it to himself much longer. "So... ...You came here from whatever world you lived in before?" he asks. It's a guess, admittedly- made entirely based on how Harry brought up Godric and the others- but he feels at least slightly confident in it.

“Yeah, I did come in from my world before being tossed into this world and Hisui,” Harry replies in return, “Back in my world, I have some encounters with various magical creatures who live in there and they are in some way just like the Pokémon. Granted, they behave much differently from our Pokémon but they are also sentient as well.”

"Yeah..?" Oh, that's unexpected. "I guess there were things that could be considered magical at home... ...I wouldn't have called it magical, but it wasn't....'Logical'?"

The boy furrows his brows. "Things like...super powers, and cryptids if that makes sense. I guess in that way where I came from wasn't too different."

Foo at least was sure sentient where most wouldn't have expected it.

There is not a word Harry can describe for what Emporoio is talking ahout, but he does understand what he is trying to say regardless.

“I agree, even if our worlds are different in many ways, there are still plenty of similarities that they share in,” Harry admits as he rechecks his notes to make sure that he didn’t get anything wrong.

Sometimes, words are hard. As long as they can understand the other though, it's probably fine.

The notes though, remind Emporio of the fact that Harry at least was here for a reason other than simply wandering.

"Oh- you probably want to get to the base to pass those notes on soon huh..."

The way he says that, it sounds a bit like he doesn't plan on coming along.

“Oh yes, I am hoping to get these notes back to base camp so they can know more about these Bronzor and what they are capable of,” Harry agrees, “I’m currently checking if I got anything wrong in my notes before I could return to base camp soon.”

"Right. There isn't really much of a way to know when enough is enough right now...since they don't have a pokedex, what we find on the pokemon here is pretty much all there is- I did the same for Drifloon a week or so before."

"The path down to the base is still clear then?"

“That is a good point. I do believe that I have gathered enough information to satisfy the request. Um, yeah. I think that the path is still Bronzor free as long as we leave as quickly and quietly as we can,” Harry acknowledges it as he packs it up to leave the Coronet Highlands and return to base camp.

“Wait a minute, what is a Drifloon if I may ask? I never have run into too many of them before.”

"Got it then... ...I might try another path to the mountain tops in that case...oh-"

Oh, Drifloon.

"I think I might still have a copy of the sketch...they're balloon shaped ghost pokemon, so they're also flying type too- I have one back in the future, or their evolved form anyway. People think they try to kidnap kids, but they're actually really playful, and the only ones they can really lift off the ground to play are young kids."

...Which unfortunately looks a lot like kidnapping as one might guess.

“Ah, so they look like balloons and they want to play with kids despite other people getting their intentions all wrong? Sounds really intriguing,” Harry speaks, “I have met plenty of ghosts in my world and they do have loads of characters in them.”

"A lot of pokemon are like that- especially the ghost types. Some of them are ghosts in the real sense...where they were something alive, you know?" So he asks, just in case ghosts in Harry's world aren't that... "...But a lot of them are just...ghostlike. Like Decidueye- they actually evolve from rowlet," Emporio laughs, looking toward the bird in question, "But they're definitely still alive..!"

"It's the same thing for golett and golurk- they're golem pokemon, giant statues that can move thanks to an energy held inside. So they're not ghosts, but similar."

“Oh wow, I didn’t know that Rowlet can become into a part Ghost type final evolution,” Harry’s eyes widen up in glee, “That is pretty brilliant. This world has plenty of interesting Pokémon and I am very intrigued to see what they have to offer now. As soon as we return to the modern times that is.”
