The change in setting (in time, Grant keeps having to remind himself, because it doesn't feel quite real) seems to have been disorienting for pretty much everyone, and Grant is no exception. That doesn't compare, however, to how hard it seems to have hit Chip.
He wishes, as always, that there were more he could do, that he could say to reassure them. But he can't pretend to know how long it'll take to get back, or anything like that. All he's got for them is that there is a way back being worked on.
That, and he can try to keep them occupied. So. Cooking.
"Do you wanna take a turn cutting the vegetables, and I can stir? Take it slow, if you do; it's more important to be safe than fast."
