Hisuian + Summer Catchall [Open]
Who: Zack Fair + Various
Where: Random places in Hisui/ Johto
When: till September
Summary: Catch all for the rest of the hisui event starting from part 2 and will encompass the rest of summer just to keep things organized for now.
Rating: Teen and under but will make note if changes
Log:
Arrival/ Obsidian Fieldlands at night
It's been a wild ride since he'd arrived in this new region. At first he had felt at home in Johto and even had some buddies there like Grim and Brodoof. He was getting used to that world when he was suddenly thrown into the past. Sure, Zack had understood What Cara Liss had said but that didn't mean he liked it. He was just starting out his second chance at life and now here he was in another new world.
While he did miss his phone and other modern technology and goods {his hair gel really was sorely missed} he didn't mind being out in the wild. He'd grown up with almost nothing in the backwaters of Gongaga so this was more nostalgic of home then the other place had been.
Zack missed his buddies but luckily he had gained another buddy here. Doggo the growlithe was his buddy and he reminded Zack a lot of brodoof. Doggo would often lay at his feet or cuddle him when he was feeling sad. It was like Doggo could read his thoughts, though Zack wasn't sure if that was real or not. The jury was out on that one still. Together they had adventured around the Obsidian fieldlands, meeting other trainers every so often but usually camping out under the stars together. That was where they were currently found, huddled up under a tree. Doggo was sleeping but Zack was up and stargazing, kept up by thoughts of home and of the previous world.
Cobalt Coastlands
The coastlands were a place Zack really enjoyed. It wasn't too hot but when you laid on the beach for awhile it was warm enough to warrant a nice soak in the waters. At least he had thought that until he realized how many pokemon were in the waters. He had stopped venturing deep into the ocean after learning what lived there the hard way. Doggo wasn't even able to help him in water at all, the poor boy always waited for him patiently on the beach like the good boy he was.
Currently Zack was lounging on the beach, his growlithe laying besides him but on alert in case any other pokemon came too close and tried to bother them. He'd taken his survey corps uniform top off and was topless, only keeping the pants on for now. Doggo's tail started to wag a bit but he stayed where he was, seeing a trainer in the distance. Zack sat up, his back covered in sand and stretched a bit before getting up to survey the area around them.
Alabaster Icelands
It was cold, but with Doggo at his side he had a small furball who always generated heat. The two had trekked into the snowy fields exploring. Really it was just Zack walking in the snow with Doggo in his arms the whole time to keep them both warmer. Doggo was enjoying this and had his tongue out the entire time.
As they had explored, the duo came up upon a flock of bird pokemon that Zack obviously didn't recognize. It looked like some of the bigger birds were picking on a smaller one. Doggo whined at the scene and the two rushed in. Some of the birds (rufflets) flew off in surprise but the one that remained seemed injured in it's wing. Doggo used a fire fang on the rufflets that remained while Zack grabbed the injured Rufflet. "Hey little one, you doing okay? I'll get you some help soon I promise."
A cold wind blew as Zack brought the bird closer to his chest. He whistled for Doggo to leave the others and follow him as they ran into the wild to find any other trainer who might have some kind of healing on them.

"I don't know if I'd call them new, exactly," he says drily, and Zipper gives an affirmative chirp from his perch. He's known the boss for months, thankyouverymuch!
no subject
"Well they are new to me. You have a cool looking team Geddoe!" He's all levels of happy and excited with how he has his own team back. "Oh! This Rufflet on my head is Geal and the bidoof is Brodoof and the little guy hiding in my hair is Grim. You know Doggo already."
no subject
Not to mention, being over a century old means it's extra easy to lose track of sizable expanses of time when preoccupied with other things. Though of course he's not going to talk about that.
Before Geddoe can make a response though, Zipper raises his head to cut in with his own chirping reply, though he still remains coiled tightly on his perch. He's not letting Geddoe out of his sight anytime soon!
"... Sounds like Zipper says hello." Geddoe's tone suggests mild exasperation, but he does reach up with one hand to reassure the little guy.
no subject
"Mind if I scan some? Never seen all of these."
no subject
Which is to say, go for it. Currently present are a Mudsdale, a Kadabra, a Venusaur, and of course the Helioptile using Geddoe as a perch. Presumably the ones he had from Hisui must still be in their balls.
no subject
"You got some neat pokemon Geddoe, do you want to scan any of mine?" He puts his gear away for now and squats down to rub at Doggo's fluffy head. "You can play with the other pokemon, just be nice okay?"
Doggo huffs happily and runs off to try and get some of Geddoe's pokemons attention, same with Brodoof and Geal.
no subject
"I know what kids they are, I've been here a while already," Geddoe points out to the offer.
no subject
Brodoof and Doggo are loving Chisha who isn't chasing them but they are playing with her vines, jumping over them and under them and running around them. Geal being a bird is enjoying perching on top of Chisha.
no subject
For his part, Geddoe was about to turn his attention to Dust the Mudsdale, seeing about making sure she's ready for a ride, but then he pauses as a thought strikes him.
"You just got here, right? So you don't have any Pokémon you can ride to the next town."
no subject
"Yeah I didn't even know it was a thing until you told me sooo..."
no subject
"They're how a lot of people get around. Apparently you can even teach the flying ones to carry you."
That's one particular method Geddoe is in no rush to try, but he can't deny the potential convenience. He's just also perfectly fine traveling by foot. Or by Pokémonback, if he wants a break from walking. Which brings us back to the big ground-type horse Pokémon standing in front of him.
"Joker," Geddoe nods to the Kadabra watching the playing group off to the side, "can teleport, so I can get back to town that way. If you don't want to walk to the next town, I can let you borrow Dust here to ride."
Since Teleport rather negates Geddoe's need for it just now.
no subject
"I..yeah I'll borrow it but...Geddoe that's really kind of you. Can I hug you? I'm just, it's..it's really nice what you are doing." He rubs at the scar on his cheek as he kicks some dirt on the ground and waits for hopefully an okay from him. He just wants to show his appreciation for the offer is all.
no subject
"If I won't need her for a few days may as well let someone else use her," he says with a shrug. He'll be focusing on trying to acclimate the Pokemon who came back from Hisui with him to Johto before traveling again after all.
no subject
"I do appreciate it. Where should we go to meet you? I guess with some kinda teleport you can get anywhere instantly so it might be a bit before I catch up."
no subject
He's not sure what the point of that restriction is, but that's just how it goes.
"So as long as you're in one of the towns, I can get there."
Notably, their current location is so small it doesn't have any Pokemon centers, hence requiring even the oldtimers to get creative in getting home.

Because no, he doesn't remember what his own device ID is, especially after not having had the thing at all the past month and a half.
no subject
"So you just press this button to get to your profile. That shows your device id. And now on my screen you press this one and then this one to get to add contact."
He does each step and then adds in Geddoe's id and proceeds to call him so that he will have his. He takes Geddoe's to add his own number and enters it ins as Zackary with a little emoji heart. He's sure Geddoe will change it one he realizes. He then hands Geddoe's gear back over with a pleasant smile. "Thanks again for everything Geddoe. You're a good guy."
no subject
"Thanks."
He does appreciate the explanation. He might have figured it out on his own eventually, but that could have taken a while. Once that's done though, he digs out Dust's Pokéball to hand to Zack, then goes over to address the Mudsdale.
"Be good and give him a ride to town. I'll come get you in a few days."
no subject
Zack does walks over to geddoe and Dust and runs a gloved hand alone her muzzle, petting her. "You're a beautiful girl aren't you? I promise I'll take good care of you. We can stop for some fresh food if you see anything you like along the way, okay?"
no subject
Dust just snorts softly but otherwise stands there placidly.
"She might start napping if you stop for a while, just wake her up again when you want to go."
Apparently that's a thing.
no subject
"Noted, any other words of advice for a first time horse rider?"
Zack isn't nervous but he doesn't want to ruin Dust in anyway for Geddoe.
no subject
"Hold on with your knees, not your hands."
That might apply to whatever else Zack's ridden, for all Geddoe knows, but it's worth mentioning just in case.
"And relax. If you're nervous she'll feel it in how you sit, and it can distract her."
At least, that's how it works for normal horses, so Geddoe assumes it's the same here. He's ridden before, even if not often, so it wasn't exactly an issue for him once he got the horse Pokémon.
no subject
"So before I head out think you can maybe just...make sure I'm riding okay?"
no subject
"Try walking her around."
If Zack can manage that, he'll probably be fine as long as he eases into higher speeds gradually. Not that the forest path is exactly suited to a full gallop anyway, though.
