New Bark Town Mingle Log

There was some interest expressed in doing a New Bark Town mingle log, so I'm throwing this up here for anyone who wants to do it:

Who: Anyone who wants to!

Where: Mom's House, New Bark Town

When: August 14th

Summary: There is a huge group at Mom's! What are they doing?

Rating: Probably no higher than PG

Radley looks up from reuniting with most of his Pokemon to see that everyone else is doing the same ... mostly. Although there are some very strange things going on. It sounds like someone is in the closet. Someone else is yelling for help getting off the ... fridge? And it's wall to wall people everywhere.

"Oh boy...."

He gets up and looks for both a way out of here and a path to whoever needs help. His Pokemon warble and follow him, or rather, all he can't carry follows him. Cosmo the Ralts stays clinging to his neck. She was already extremely shy and reluctant to let go of Radley before all this happened. She may never let go of him now....

Kaiba drags himself to his feet. Zephyra the Rapidash stands with him, and Kingyoku the Sliggoo rolls along at his side. He walks a little closer to the window so the Horsea can get a better look. She lifts her head a little, making a little bubbly sound as she spots the Eevee and Ralts. Hello...?

"You've raised a few timid Pokémon, right? How'd you help them?"

"Hiiii!" Evie exclaims in Pokemon talk. "I'm so happy! Radley's home and there are so many new friends!"

Cosmo the Ralts gives a small, shy smile.

"Well ..." Radley pats her hands. "Cosmo here is still timid. She was one of the ones I worried about the most because she's been afraid of everyone except me and Fluttershy. I sure wonder what happened to all of them while we were gone. Cosmo hasn't let go of me at all since we got back." Which is better than he had feared; he was afraid she'd feel betrayed and not come near him.

"I always try to be really patient and tender with her and let her go at her own pace. I take her places where she can meet other Pokemon and people, but if she's not comfortable I don't push anything."

The Horsea seems to be calmer now. She nuzzles into the crook of Kaiba's arm and shyly greets the Pokémon, so Kaiba can relax at last.

"I'll try to take her out of town somewhere quiet. I don't think she likes crowds. Do you know if there's anyplace for her to swim nearby?"

Evie is happy to ramble on for a while.

"There's water in Cherrygrove," Radley says. "That's the next town over."

[blue_ice]

"All right. Guess we'll be hitting the road soon," he says, gesturing to Zephyra. The horse is now wearing a saddle, all ready to go. "But all this modern tech and they don't have vehicles?"

Radley sighs. "I think they have more in Kanto. They do have bicycles here. Mine is back home, I guess. I miss my motorcycle!"

[blue_ice]

"Mm. I could go for one myself. But I guess we'll have to settle for more traditional racing."

Zephyra throws her head back and neighs proudly. She's the best racer there is! Kaiba smiles at her and turns back to the group in the window. "Well...at least the road conditions probably won't be worse than back there."

Those dark clouds in the sky, though....he hopes he didn't jinx himself.

"There's at least some better roads than there," Radley agrees. "This rain, though, that's going to make mud out of the dirt roads pretty fast." He's almost positive from the clouds that rain will come out of them.
