I mean, technically...but at the same time, would that really prove anything? You can just look stuff up in this world, after all. If I just looked up a recipe other people said was good, am I proving my own ability to recognize a good recipe at all? And the fact of the matter is that an audience can't know where I source my recipes from - whether it's my own wisdom of selection, or whether I'm piggybacking on someone else's tastes.
So it'd best to judge my ability just by how well I prepare the dishes, I think. It's the only unbiased criteria.
