Video
[Radley is sitting and writing at his kitchen table. Behind him, a window is half-open with the curtains blowing in the gentle breeze.]
So I've been wanting to organize a bi-weekly or monthly Duel Monsters get-together. I thought it would be nice for all of us who know about the Duel Monsters card game to get to know each other more, and to share the game with others here who might be interested. I talked it over with Marik months ago and was going to introduce it in July, but ... yeah, that didn't work out. I'm thinking now that with the hype of the upcoming tournament, it would probably be better to wait until that's over to start having the get-togethers, unless anyone would like to have at least one of them this month? I was just planning on casual games and socializing here at my restaurant in Goldenrod, nothing seriously competitive. Of course I'm sure at least some of you will want that at some point. [He smirks.] So if the get-together goes well, maybe sometime in the future I'll consider holding a mini tournament....
[He is suddenly interrupted by a wild Eevee jumping through the window. She lands on his shoulder, rubs against his head, and drops into his lap to keep cuddling. He laughs in bewildered shock.]
What the ... ?! Where did you come from?!
[Some of his Pokemon enter the video, bewildered as well. "Vee?!" Evie exclaims.
The wild Eevee keeps snuggling close, apparently with no intention of moving any time soon. Radley holds her, shaking his head in amusement.]
I don't even know this sweetheart. I have no idea why she randomly jumped through my window instead of someone else's, but I think she's decided she's adopting me?
((I was told this adorable story of a dog who basically did this and another about a kitty and I desperately wanted to incorporate it into Radley's story. I hope that's okay. He's only encountered two other Eevees in the wild, but he breeds them, so he has quite a few from that. I try to give him some variety in what else he has, and I think he's going to end up with six more cats very soon from unclaimed hatching eggs, but I really wanted it to be an Eevee claiming him this way.))

[He nods.]
That's probably a good idea.
[He's heard some concerning things about them too.]
no subject
[He nodded]
Luckily, Srel doesn't seem in much of hurry to evolve so I have some time to find a solution. Foudre was certainly in more of hurry.
[He would also like Bet to evolve but he would not discuss that in front of Bet. If Bet wished to evolve whenever the time came, that was fine. If he chose to wait, that was fine as well. His reasons were more selfish as then Bet would be large enough for travel and he would rather he be ready.
Speaking of Bet, he let out a call and walked away from Ulaz, going to explore... first at floor level because everyone else was there]
no subject
Everstones are probably the best solution. They keep any evolving from happening.
[Radley is very supportive of his Pokemons' evolution desires too. He's not eager for any of them to change, except maybe Harley, but he will always respect their wishes.
Evie calls happily, always glad to welcome more friends!]

I will have to see about obtaining one for Srel. It will be easier for him to manage in the house.
[And honestly, Srel would get more companionship from the others if he didn't evolve. So, in the end, it would be good for him.
Bet hopped over, greeting the others as he got to them. He had so rarely joined the party coming over here that they were brand new friends]

[Evie dances around, tail waving. The others say Hi too!]
no subject
Vethri, came you come back for now?
[The Alolan Vulpix trotted obediently over and he was able to switch her out for Srel. The Stufful popped out. Anyone that knew Stuffuls would know that he wasn't the usual color. He was orange, not pink. The Stufful was definitely happy to come trotting over to everyone]
And this is Srel.
no subject
[Radley is surprised.
His Pokemon greet the new friend!]
no subject
[Hence why he was willing to put up with Srel being a bit more high maintenance. He was special.
Srel greeted the others as well. He was very happy to meet new friends]
no subject
[Evie dances happily and some of the others warble.]
no subject
[Srel danced a bit too, but it more like waving his front legs very quickly. Ulaz was about ready to step in as that was something he did when he was getting agitated, but he stopped after just a moment. Apparently that was also how he danced...]
no subject
[He is amused at the cute dance.]
Looks like Evie has another friend.
no subject
[Srel might be occasionally difficult, but that was more the nature of Stuffuls, not necessarily him - like how Foudre believed she was basically second in charge of their pack for no other reason than she was the first Pokemon in his party, something he was sure she'd still believe even if she hadn't been the first, just a different reason. It had just taken some time to get used to how Stuffuls acted when excited and agitated.
Besides, given the way Galra acted to each other on a normal basis, a overly excitable creature was not impossible to deal with]
I would say so. She is very good at gathering friends.
no subject
[Evie warbles with pride.]
She really is.
[Similar to Radley himself back home. He was still definitely good at gathering Pokemon friends here.]
no subject
[Ulaz was not so good at gathering friends. It had been in his job description to keep a low profile even in a high profile position - do your job, don't make them question anything about you. If you were just vague enough that others knew you did your "job" well, but nothing else, it was easier to spy on them. He was getting better here. Might have contributed to his smaller team]
It is always good to have those. Foudre seems to be good at that. Jaxu as well I have been noticing.
[Jaxu seemed pleased]
no subject
I haven't actually caught any of mine in the traditional sense. They all wanted to come with me, if they weren't born from my eggs, and they willingly got in the Pokeballs just to be registered.
[He smiles.]
Yeah, Jaxu is definitely bringing Cosmo out of her shell. Not just anyone can do that.
no subject
[Ulaz smiled faintly]
Yes, I would imagine that would be difficult. He has proven to be good with Trunti as well. She prefers to hide sometimes, but with him, she'll sit with him.
no subject
That's really special that he has that ability.

[Of course he had to come home]

[Lily snuggled him.]
no subject
[He smiled as Lily snuggled against Radley and he would soon have Foudre flopped against him as though she were still a Poochyena]
no subject
[He smiled, petting Lily.]
That's probably why this world celebrates them so much, because they bring happiness.
no subject
[He reached over to pet Foudre, still flopped against him]
no subject
Same here.
[He got the food ready and set it out.]
Okay!
[His Pokemon jump up for it.]
