[Hey fellow Paldea chums. Guess who immediately hit up the library to learn everything about this region that he can?

So now have Armin absolutely beaming at the camera, a wide smile and eyes shining bright as he holds up an atlas for all to see. The atlas is open to the page on the Asado desert.]

It really does look like a sea of sand!

I've wanted to see a desert since I was a little kid, and now I finally get the opportunity. Would anyone be interested in going with me? Huey, you perhaps? I think there is an assignment available too, if that might motivate some folks.

[Hey, Armin will do the assignment while he is there, but he doesn't need it. He'll go just for the excitement of seeing a desert.]

Or, perhaps, does anyone have a tips on travelling through a desert? Bring plenty of water, of course, but anything else? And pick the right pokemon, I suppose. I don't imagine my water pokemon would enjoy the area much.

[Man, the desert. He's trekked through Egypt before and while Jotaro has lots of bad memories associated with it there are some good ones too.]

... Deserts are no joke to traverse. Make sure to cover your head and body- a lot of water evaporates that way.

The sun can and will be your worst enemy. [He smirks to himself, for some reason.] But just make sure you know where you are. Have a route planned. And if you don't have to, don't walk on foot.

[Sir, do you have a vendetta against the sun?]

I suppose I could ride on a pokemon, but I'm not sure any of mine are well equipped for that sort of travel. The downside, I guess, of mostly focusing on water pokemon.

[No. The Sun was just the funniest enemy he ever had to fight.]

That's fair enough. Then just be ready to take your adventuring slow. You don't want to travel at night in a desert either - lots of creatures are nocturnal and it's very easy to get turned around.

Do you have any advice for that? The getting turned around, I mean. There won't be many landmarks, will there?

Looking at this map, you have more landmarks than you may think. But mind the sun and bring a compass. You'd be shocked with how well you can do with those things alone. Know where you start and where you want to be. And try not take too many detours.

I will try not to. Though I'm not sure if I can make any promises if we happen to run into any ruins.

Well, I can't blame you.

Just know where the ruins are relative to your path and hope they don't just vanish or teleport you somewhere else in the desert.

I wish I could say that won't be a concern here but...

[a momentary stare into the middle distance. Listen, Armin loves this world and overall? It's way less dangerous than his world. But still, he's had to deal with Some Stuff.]

[He can just look at March and the Mirror World. He's sure that there's weirder a veteran like Armin's experienced.]

Well, if you do get transported somewhere and get lost, gimmie a ring. I'll figure something out.
