Although Scar's undoubtedly had times where his severe stature and blunt, occasionally brutal honesty have made his life more difficult... it's also a blessing. Sitting here in this dark room, with the rest of the house still silent in sleep, the unbuffered weight of his words-- heavy in bleak truth even as they absolve Wrath of responsibility-- cannot be protested.

They don't rid him of that persistent gnawing shame-- he'll be carrying that for a long time-- but he nods, even as he drops his gaze from Scar back down to the blanket over his knees.
