005 ♟ video

[So it's been... a while since "Jack" (or Not-Jack, or whatever you know him as) has been on the network. And the video doesn't even show him, actually. Instead everyone gets an angled view from... the ground? Looks like someone dropped his gear. Other things visible include a pond nearby, with a gold Magikarp flailing... on the grass next to it, rather than in the water.]

Okay, wow. Yeah, thanks buddy, that's exactly how I wanted to start this off. [A sigh and now Tim's legs are visible as he walks over to the gear.] Annnnd... it's recording. Because of course it is.

[The gear is being picked up now. Still not showing Tim's face, but the Magikarp is still very visible! Look at her jump over and over.

Actually, huh. Kinda looks like the Magikarp is jumping closer and closer to the water. Slowly but surely...]

Oh geez. Uh, sorry about this, I was just... trying to get a video of some of my newly evolved Pokemon and uh... yeah, my Persian wanted the attention all for himself I guess? [There's a curious "Mrow!" and said Persian's face suddenly appears at the edge of the screen.] Okay, don't try to at all innocent now.

Geez, this is a mess. Kinda amazed it's seriously recording. [More Magikarp flopping. Flop... Flop...] Anyway, I guess I'm sorta showing off my Persian now anyway. So I guess this still sorta works-- [And splash! The Magikarp has made it to the water, disappearing underneath! Then... suddenly a glowing spot appears on the surface?] Uh... Wait, what was--

[And that's all he gets to say before he's suddenly interrupted by a red Gyarados suddenly shooting out of the... way too small pond, loudly roaring, and water spraying everywhere. And now everyone gets a look at Tim's face, finally. His very shocked, scarred face. Actually, that scar might be pretty new to anyone who hasn't talked to him in a wh-- Oh, wait, right. Elephant in the room. Well. Gyarados in the room.]

Oh, what the f--

[Yeah, let's cut it off right now. Someone wasn't exactly, uh, prepared for this evolution.]

[ Walter gives it a little bit before he calls because Tim is either going to be in shock or busy with his Gyarados. Either fighting it or hiding from it, he can't say. After seeing what it evolved into he did look up some basic information and he is slightly worried for Tim's welfare. ]

...I saw that two of your Pokemon evolved today.

]Jack's not actually going to respond in any way, but he's laughing at Tim. He's laughing a lot. He's been waiting for this.]

[He's not disappointed.]

[Athena had been making her way back through town after her daily training when she saw the flash of an evolving pokemon and something practically exploding out of the water. She's there in a flash, arriving just after Tim cuts the feed, and she doesn't even try to hide the grin crossing her face.]

Impressive.

[She thought that fish was pretty dumb, but man, she might have to look into getting one now...]

If I knew it evolved, I would've gotten one of those things for myself.

[Athena knows no fear when it comes to monsters, both Pandoran and from this planet, so she just. Strolls right up to the Gyarados, arms crossed as she examines it.]

How did you even train it?

[This is what Jean has been waiting for. He knows Magikarp turn into Gyarados, but he didn't quite believe it. How could something so useless turn into something so cool? But now he's got visual confirmation, and he's grinning like a fool into the communicator's camera.]

Hell. YES.

Oh!

[Oh, poor Timothy. Lust has to cover her mouth to keep from laughing. She can't help it.]

Are you alright?
a_sin_for_him: (well actually hehe)

They evolve into Gyarados, the sea dragon. They don't get any bigger, though.

They're really far more gentle than their appearance and 'dex entry would lead you to believe.

Good thing there's enough water in this lake. I can't imagine something like this being too keen to stay in a ball for too long.

[Athena is the very last person who would back away from a giant monster looming over them, so she just. Lets the Gyarados loom and check her out. She certainly looks impressed, so hopefully that makes the giant water dragon happy!]

We both know who it was that didn't think to tell you about this, and the answer to that is because "he's a gigantic asshole".

You didn't check to see if Magikarp could evolve? [ His tone is genuine. He's not intending to be patronising or cruel. It was a habit of his that some would probably see as strange or weird. ]

[... Hm.]

The areas around the lakes are more or less empty in the mornings when I leave to train.

[She knows he still doesn't like going out too much and showing his face. It's... really, the best advice she can give, to give him a time where he won't run into too many people.]

... To be fair, would you have believed him if you were told the truth? That a useless fish would grow into a giant sea serpent?

Ah. Do you know anything about Gyaradoses? I looked them up when I saw the video.

It's a Flying and Water type, and is extremely powerful, especially compared to what it once was. I checked what information I've found; wild Gyarados have been capable of destorying seaside populations when enraged.

...You treated it well, when it was weak and not of use in battle? [ This is kind of important actually. And not just for the Gyarados situation. ]

[ He remembers Tim with the scared little Espurr. ]

Good. It shouldn't be harmful to you then.

...You said three of your Pokemon evolved? I only saw the Gyarados and the large, cream cat.
