I don't know much about Mareep, but are they supposed to be pink?

[Yayoi pans the device down at the Mareep who is affectionately rubbing at her leg and she rubs its head. It's a bright pink color, and its making soft trilling noises.]

The little guy just hatched a day ago, and I was kind of surprised at the color. That's significant right?

It's called a shiny Pokemon. I had to ask someone about it the other day.

[Noctis motions to the silver-colored Eevee currently perched on his shoulder that let's out a happy little twill in greeting.]

Carbuncle here hatched the other day and he doesn't look anything like the pictures in the Pokedex.

That would explain it. It's a little after my time so I figured that it was something to do with how it was born.

Apparently it's happened a few times over here. So if you end up with a random egg, best to assume it's going to be shiny, I guess.

..Wait, what do you mean a little after your time?

That makes sense. Random chance does help a lot.

There's minor stories of pokemon in my world. I have very basic experience with them, from beforehand.

Huh...wait, are you one of those people that comes from a place where Pokemon is a game or something?

[He's been told a little bit about that sort of thing.]

Oh thank god, yes, I've been dancing around the subject a little. I didn't want to shatter anyone's worldview.

I played it when I was little. Not recently though.

..I honestly thought Sora was joking when he told me that. The whole game thing.

[Noctis looks rather miffed right now.]

So is this place set up like it? The game you played.

Well... to be honest? I don't remember.

Some of it looks familiar, like Kanto. But everything after that is 100% different to me. I don't recall any of the other stuff, but I have to admit, it sort of fades into the background of memory.

Fair enough. You probably would have had to play it right before coming here to really remember every little detail.

[Still..it's fascinating to him.]

I remember playing it back years ago... when I was 10 or maybe 11? So it's been a very long time.

I almost wish I'd had a game like this to play when I was growing up. It would have made being sick a lot easier to deal with.

I spent a lot of my childhood drawing, but I did play some video games. I wasn't really very social growing up, but it eventually got better.

[He's really cute as well.]

Same. Ah, I mean about the not being very social thing. I liked being by myself more often than not. At least until Prompto came along.

[She kind of reminds him of Luna, which is both a good and a sad thing.]

You found a friend for life. Sounds familiar. I found a bunch of friends who brought me out of my shell.

[She would probably be very good friends with Luna if it came down to it.]

..Yeah, I really did. I'm lucky to have the friends that I have.

[God knows that Luna could use all the friends she could get, moreso than Noctis even.]

Same here. It helps we've kept in touch and see each other regularly over the years. We made friends when we were in middle school.

Prompto and I were high school but we met originally in Elementary. He just avoided me for awhile.

[Because he's a dork.]

Aww that's cute. You two must be pretty close.

Yeah he's my best friend. I..don't know what I'd do if he wasn't here with me.

I know that feeling. I miss my friends, but we're grown adults. We're allowed to have our own lives while talking with each other. I'm glad though that you have such a caring friend with you.

I've made friends, though I'm not traveling with anyone right now.

I'm mostly just journeying around, having fun sightseeing.

Yeah, I have three right now, and I'm in the process of caring for them. Two are newborns by a few weeks and I'm still working on training Pikachu.

Two newborns? Man, that sounds like a handfull.
