[Flashes of footage, both blinding sun and of pouring, splattering rain. Oh, you think this is a cut-together weather montage? Think again-- the next shot is a camera pan from one window of an office building to another, showing that both things are happening simultaneously.]
[The newscaster's voice cuts in over this, very seriously.]
Ever since the power outage that rocked the Johto-Kanto peninsula approximately one week ago, increasing reports of severe weather have been flowing in from all corners of both regions. Record rainfalls, baking temperatures, and more confirmed lightning strikes than anywhere in recent history have left many asking: What's going on?
Well, today, some home video footage from a household just west of Violet may have the answer.
[A cut to grainy, slightly shaky footage being shot from behind someone's screen door. It starts out fairly blurry, but quickly zooms in on an enormous red shape standing on a hillock behind the house. It's Entei, stamping the ground with its enormous paws! It's a little hard to tell exactly what this is causing, but judging by the way the nearby plants all seem to be drooping in the harsh sunlight, it's definitely doing something.]
[After a few seconds, it stops, seems to give a decisive nod, and then trots away into the wilderness, and the anchorwoman's voice cuts back in.]
Videotaped footage of one Legendary alone is remarkable, but what happened next, you'll have to see to believe.
[What happens next is, in fact, a sleek blue-and-purple shape gracefully leaping onto the same hillock that Entei had been occupying seconds before and shaking out its mane. The shot then darkens as the sun disappears behind dark clouds. Rain begins to fall and Suicune tosses its head, wearing what just might be a smirk on its muzzle, before strutting off, itself.]
[The shot lingers on the rain for a few seconds more.]
[... And then a massive bolt of lightning strikes the hillock, and the clip ends abruptly.]
While mass speculation can frequently be off-base, Professors Elm and Oak have stepped forward to confirm that by all indications, these mysterious weather anomalies are the work of the Legendary Pokemon Entei, Raikou, and Suicune.
[Now there's footage from a press conference, both Professors at the helm, surrounded by cameras and microphones.]
"Yes, yes, we are very excited! To see these amazing Pokemon so unusually active is remarkable!"
"However, we urge everyone to remain cautious! These Pokemon are very powerful, and very dangerous! If you see one, do not approach! Professor Oak and I both agree that the best thing to do is admire from afar: quietly and respectfully!"
Many are willing to follow the advice of these renowned experts, but... SOME may disagree.
[Cut to a newscaster interviewing people on what looks like the streets of Violet City, near where the home video was shot. He's holding the microphone up to a small girl in a pink Unown-print dress.]
"What do you think YOU would do if you saw Entei?"
[The girl answers with tiny clenched fists and sincere determination in her voice.]
"HUG HIM."
[And then, it cuts back to replayed footage of the videotape, with the anchorwoman's voice delivering some final statements.]
All excitement aside, we at EV News urge viewers to keep a watchful eye out for strange activity, as well as an eye on our channel as we bring you the most up-to-date coverage of these events as the story develops.
[Corresponding event announcement post is over here!]
