Going for gold, winding up with a participation ribbon.

Who: Gaige, you, maybe some police, definitely some Rotom
Where: Out and about Goldenrod City
When: August 10, 11, 12
What: Gaige wanders around getting into trouble, business as usual.
Warnings: She has a potty mouth, and really with the borderlands cast you should always expect some violence.

As much as she knew there were SOME PEOPLE in this city that Gaige wanted to avoid at all costs? She had to admit she liked Goldenrod.

It was big, it was modern, the people seemed happy here. And she didn't have to cannibalize other peoples appliances for spare parts to make robots or tools. She could just...buy them. Like a normal human being.

That did not mean she wasn't still on the lookout for a unattended to toaster or blender that might serve her purposes.

Riding on the back of a freshly evolved Metang, Gaige felt like pretty hot shit as she returned to Goldenrod for the first time since she'd caught her Rotom. Unfortunately in an effort to attract the biggest and strongest of Rotoms, Gaige had caused a...modest explosion in town and promptly fled the city limits before she could be arrested. While she wasn't exactly high on the most wanted list since no one got hurt, she intended on avoiding the police as best she could.

Still just because this wasn't Pandora didn't mean there wasn't some fun to have around town right?

Okay now this was hilarious.

Vanitas had been out patrolling the streets for something to do or someone to mess with when he'd spotted Gaige just in time to see her punch herself in her face. His Totodile, Wrecker, and his Croagunk, Brute, both let out loud snickers at the sight as Vanitas just smirked and watched. The scene only got funnier as the hand started dancing around, the familiar glow making it clear what was going on.

He really needed to get his hands on a Rotom.

"Wrecker, Brute, fetch." The Totodile snickered merrily and took off after the spider-arm while Brute sauntered off, mock-cracking his knuckles as a flash of lightning lit up the sky. Wrecker got close first and attacked with Crunch, Brute coming in with a Sucker Punch of his own next.

Sorry if they wreck your arm, Gaige.

Gaige would be a lot less worried about fixing the arm if the attacks had both hit. The first one missed just barely as the hand grabbed onto Wrecker's nose and pulled itself up onto it's face. The Sucker punch however clocked it square and sent the hand flying through the air almost vanishing in the rain.

"Get back here you bastard!!!" Gaige bellowed racing after the hand which bounced, skidded and resumed scampering in the direction of the radio tower. "Don't just stand there! Help me box it in!"

The Totodile let out a ~~Donald Duck~~ angry squawk, flailing as he tried to get his nose free. Unfortunately for him, the Sucker Punch caught him too and sent the little blue alligator into a puddle. Brute croaked irritably and followed after the shitty little hand, attempting to follow it despite the bad visibility.

"Alright, alright," Vanitas drawled, heading after Gaige to do his best to assist...but mostly he just wanted to watch this all play out okay.

By the time they caught up to the hand it was scaling the side of the radio tower and Gaige was already trying with great difficulty to follow. The rain made the metal slick and she tumbled back down landing on her rear next to Vanitas.

"I am gonna punch that ghost so hard it's not gonna matter that it's supposed to be immune to physical attacks!" She snarled standing up and shaking her ponytails scattering water.

"You got any really big or REALLY strong pokemon? I think I have an idea."

Vanitas just stops at the bottom of the radio tower and watches Gaige try and fail to get up the side of it, glancing at her as she lands beside him.

"Let me know how that goes for you," he drawled, smirking lazily before he actually pauses to think about what she asked.

"I do but he's a fire type and won't like the weather much." He shrugs. "I do have a ghost type that might be able to help."

Depends on how she's feeling.

"Well if that ghost type can fling me up to the top, we'll have the damn hand cornered and it'll either have to jump down to you or crawl past me." She declared turning her attention to the tower and trying to do the math on how high and far she'd have to be thrown.

"I figure...yeah without my robot arm I can't weigh that much right?"

That was your master plan, Gaige?

"..Yeah I don't think that's going to happen. How about I send her up there to herd it back down? It'll be easily for a ghost type to maneuver around up there," Vanitas drawled and, as he spoke, Shadow was already making her appearance, the Haunter melding out of the shadows with a gleeful look.

It would have been awesome!

Either way she looks delighted to see a Haunter. "OoO that's a WAY better idea. Please Miss Haunter go get my arm back from that stupid electric ghost brat?"

Gaige instantly showing more respect to a pokemon then any human she knows.

Shadow giggled at Gaige's requesting and wagged her fingers at the girl with a wink before she headed upwards.

Who was she to deny a cute girl?

Vanitas just rolled his eyes in amusement at the entire thing, glancing up to watch as Shadow went after the robotic arm.

"Is that one of your Pokemon, by the way? Or just a wild one that decided to be a shit?"

"A wild one. Mine is WAY better behaved then this and if she wasn't getting her nails done at the pokemon center she'd have kicked it out for me!"

Ignoring the fact that Rotom don't really have nails and that's not what pokecenters are for, Gaige squints into the rain as lightning flashes striking the tower near where the hand is fooling around. Maybe it's a good thing that Vanitas stopped her...

...nah still woulda been awesome.

"I'm Gaige by the way. Thanks for the help handsome."

"...Uh huh." This girl is kind of crazy, isn't she?

Up the tower, Shadow appears in the Rotom-arm's path, claws flexing as she lets her tongue loll out. Hey there, you little shit~

"Vanitas," he replied, unaware of what was going on in her head and honestly, had she said anything, he probably would have just ended up encouraging her to go ahead and climb then. Not his problem if she gets shocked.

The handsome comment does get a smirk out of him though.

"You're lucky you caught me when I'm feeling charitable. Usually I charge."

Kind of is being polite. Just wait till she gets into a real fight.

The arm twitches and seizes before falling off the tower, the Rotom itself stunned and separating from the hunk of metal and circuits that is now falling fist first towards the trainers. Gaige is doing her best to eyeball it and catch it with her one good hand.

"Well thanks for the freebie. I'll owe ya a favor sometime." Gaige knew it was dangerous to say that sort of thing since she was the kind of girl who always came through on a promise...or at least an attempt to come through on it.

"I don't remember saying I was doing this for free," Vanitas drawled but he really didn't have any intentions of taking anything from her.

This time.

"I'll keep that in mind. It's always good to have some favors in your pocket." He grinned as Shadow trailed back down, circling him then chortling as she disappeared into her trainer's faint shadow. "Try and stay out of trouble, one arm."

"Pfft, where's the fun in that? OW FUCK!"

The falling arm missed her waiting hand and landed on her foot making her curse and hop in place before snatching it back up and shaking it at him.

"Just don't go thinking you can get an easy date out of one little favor. You've got great looking eyes but I'm not that easy!"

That gets Vanitas snickering, well aware that she's fine because she's quick to shake that arm at him.

"Damn, here I was hoping I could lure you to a hotel," he drawled. Let's be honest, though. He didn't have any intention of doing that. The only good she might be to him is for new supplies.

"oof look at you thinking you're man enough for all of this~"

She gestured with her robot arm at her scrawny but rough form.

"Besides I'm saving my cash for real stuff like tools and...well not guns anymore I guess but TMs would be the same right?"

"But for the record? I would rock your world!"

Vanitas snorts and rolls his eyes, though the grin playing on his lips is something he can't wipe away.

"Whatever you say, weirdo," he said with a wave of his hand, turning to go. Shadow appeared and waved at Gaige with a big grin, tongue lolling as she flexed her claws before diving back into her trainer's shadow. "Try not to lose your arm anymore!"
