I'm hoping I didn't wait too long to ask this, but is it normal for some eggs to take a really long time to hatch? I've had it, uh... Let's see|
I think since the start of this month? I had two and one already hatched, but the second one still hasn't done anything. I didn't mess anything up, did I? If I did, is there any way to fix it? Will it still hatch, and if it does, would it be okay? I'm not even sure what it's supposed to be yet, but I'm starting to get worried.

let me know if the color bothers you!
some eggs take longer than others!
they are late bloomers
or hatchers should i say hehe :)
it seems that the "rarer" a pokemon is the longer it takes for them to cycle through to hatching
its a little weird but you get used to it!
colors are perfectly fine! almost all of my characters end up adopting colors after awhile too
What, uh|
What makes them rare, exactly? And how do you know which ones are and which ones aren't? Excluding stuff like Rattata, I mean.

while some are a no brainer others are stupidly asinine :P
but they are mostly straightforward!!!
like ones you do not encounter commonly in the wild or super duper amazing "legendary" types like dragon
so an eevee can take a while to hatch because it is technically a genetic anomaly of a pokemon and considered rare as opposed to the aforementioned rattata
actually what is your egg supposed to be if its alright to ask? :o

I only asked my friend to surprise me with a couple when he ended up with a bunch of eggs. The first one that hatched was a little blue bird-looking thing with cloud wings, but that was almost two weeks ago. If it was the same thing I think the other one would've hatched by now.

but yes that does make it a little more difficult to determine what the caramel center is actually :|a
still the first one sounds like a swablu!
i have one of those :)
they evolve into a bigger cloud bird that is also part dragon type for some reason?
maybe the other is a dragon!
so still i wouldnt worry so much about it not hatching right away
it will eventually! :D

some take even longer than they should like sometimes months longer
never heard of one dying or anything though so it's probably fine I doubt you'd be the very first person with a dud egg

In person;
I really don't think you have to worry. See, my egg hasn't hatched either yet.
[Armin runs a hand over the warm surface of his egg, noting a few more small cracks.]
Though I think it will do so very soon.

Mine hasn't even moved. Pilvi's was doing that when it was getting close, but...
[Bertolt frowns a little and pulls his legs up under himself.]
I don't want anything bad to happen.
no subject
I think that sort of thing is understandable, though you are probably worrying too much.
What kind of pokemon will it hatch into? There might be some more information available about how long their eggs take to hatch on average.
no subject
[He is a worrier, damn it!]
But, um... I don't know. I told Sion to surprise me.
no subject
[That... makes it a little hard to figure out what it might be. Unless--
logically thinking, if they take Sion's list of available eggs and cross of anything they know it cannot be they could still come to a likely candidate for Bertolt's egg.]
Well, we know it cannot be another swablu or a dratini.
[Being that it is taking much longer to hatch than Bertolt's other egg and the only available dratini egg had gone to Armin.]

Dragons, especially.
Best advice I can give if you wanna speed things up is to grab something with Flame Body, like a Slugma or a Volcarona. Keep 'em close, let 'em incubate a bit.
Won't make them hatch automatically, but it does help.

...Also how do you know what kind of egg you have? I asked my friend to surprise me with two and the first one that hatched was one of the blue birds with cloud wings, uh... Swablu?

As for the eggs, you can guess based on a few factors. Size, color, weight. Obviously, a lapras egg is gonna be bigger than a diglett.
no subject
And um. It looks like a normal egg color to me. It's not that heavy either, but I guess that depends what people count as heavy?
no subject
But again, that's a bit of a trip.
