Does anyone know if there's any meaning to...particularly bizarre dreams?

Not nightmares, I'm familiar with those, but dreams that are nonsensical and seem to come from nowhere.

[Whenever Lust's mind does something she isn't used to, she has to analyze it to pieces. Dreams that are cobbled together memories, or manifestations of her fears, those she's familiar with and understands.]

It's just I rarely remember my dreams, and those I do...I understand them. They make sense. I had one last night that...doesn't. I was a fantasy style knight, only I had giant fabric sheers instead of a sword and they were pink, and I drove a bus that could travel through time...

[Is this the symptom of some terrible brain disease?!?!]

Haha woah. I don't know about meanings, but I know you can have weird dreams if you eat sweet stuff before going to sleep.

Oh...maybe it's just me. Man, one Halloween when I was a kid I ate like five Snickers bars and when I fell asleep I dreamed that everyone in the world's fingernails just disappeared. They didn't fall off or anything, they just didn't have them anymore but for some reason I was in trouble for not having fingernails even though it was on the news so I ran away with this one kid that was in my gym class even though we never talked or anything and we were in the back of this bus and the Power Rangers were there and--

[He takes a breath.]

then I think...it turned into another dream where my sister and I were fighting but before THAT, it was pretty wild.

Y'mean in the awake world? Naw, not that I know of. Besides, y'know, eating way too much candy. I have so many dreams...but. Back t'what you were talking about, I dunno if they really mean anything.

[He makes a face.]

A lot of like...weird psychological research junk tries to say that every dream is basically about your mom or dicks. But I think the guy who wrote that had like. Issues. Why is that the only thing I remember from college?

I've never looked into this myself, but have you tried checking in the library? There might be books on this subject.

[If in doubt, the library is always the best place to start.]

Though... it might be sort of like astrology.

[As in, sort of harmless fun, but not actually believably real.]

I imagine there must be. There is books on geography and other natural phenomenon too, after all.

[You just have to... dig past the many many books about pokemon, pokemon and more pokemon.]

Is astrology something they have back where you are from too, ma'am?

[Armin is no believer, but it would be interesting to know that these sort of superstitions are shared across multiple worlds.]

I don't know much about biology, but I do know that dreams are ways for your brain to process the day previous, no matter how strange or odd the dream is.

It's basically pressing the mental reset button.

Dreams rarely make sense to be honest. But they're good entertainment if you become lucid during one and wind up controlling the dream.

That's... certainly an interesting mental image.

[She wants to laugh, but it's so bizarre it's just... confusing!]

Has anything similar to sewing or fantasy stories been on your mind lately? Perhaps that's just your brain trying to sort those thoughts out.

Pink... armor.... [Okay yeah, she definitely snorts a little at that.] That certainly sounds fashionable! And would work as a wonderful distraction for your enemies.

Perhaps you could work that into our show. A knight whose armor is so outrageous his or her enemies underestimate them.

I...want to say I've heard of dream interpretation before, but it seemed very roundabout. Something about specific symbols relating to other things, the divination aspect of it was kind of odd. More likely this was just a normal, run-of-the-mill dream.

[Alphonse shrugs and chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck.]

I don't usually remember mine unless they were really stressful, though, so I can't help you much figuring out why your brain came up with a time-travelling school bus of all things.

[Al blinks for a moment, then stifles a laugh and shakes his head.]

Oh, no, not at all! That sort of dream is perfectly normal, you're not getting sick or anything. I have crazy ones like that from time to time, and you've probably had a few before but just didn't remember them once you woke up.

Dreams are just your subconscious. If something is on your mind a lot you'll probably dream about it. There's a lot of theories and it's a heavily discussed topic among psychologists. Normally very vivid dreams are about things are weighing on either the forefront or back of your mind. And it's not necessarily bad things..

Um.

For example, my roommate once watched five seasons of some show. Just in a row. He didn't stop. So naturally he was having weird dreams about it after the fact.

I also knew a girl that got so stressed out from work she started having dreams about it.

And, as for me, I dream a lot about my mom and explosions because those have to do with home, which is something I'm always thinking about.

But sometimes it's nonsensical for no reason. Maybe it's a bunch of different things jumbled together. And dreams don't always have to mean something. You could be picking up noises or smells while you sleep that transfer into something like that. Or, and I'd argue that this might be the case, that it's a pokémon's doing. I've documented that there are a few of Pokémon and moves that can fiddle with your dreams.

If you're really interested in wondering why your dream was that bizarre, your psychic or ghostly companions might be a good starting point.

I have an Espurr too and he'd be my prime suspect for shenanigans. But, yeah. I think the Pokémon might be to blame for the weird dreams.

If you're looking for a cause try a night without them and see what happens. But if you're not invested I hope the dreams at least stay fun.
