Who: Tony and Anastasia

Summary: Tony (trying) to help Anastasia as a mentor

Ever since his video call with Anastasia, Tony spent the next 7 days getting back to Cherrygrove to meet her. Sure, he is meeting a girl for the first time ever since he arrived at Johto, but that's not the only reason as he wants to meet up with her because he feels that she might be very lonely on her Pokemon journey and he wants to teach her everything he knows in this world so far.

After he sends a message to Anastasia about his arrival, he is found just outside the Pokemon Center with his Noibat still perched on his head, sleeping peacefully during the day. If he does find her, he then waves at her to get her attention.

"Hey, over here!"

[Anastasia had only been in the city a short while. Aimlessly wandering around and taking in the sights and the smell. The smell of the flowers and the sea was calming, easing the ordeal of walking alone to this city.

A princess shouldn't have to deal with inconveniences like this, but she hasn't forgotten what transpired before she woke up here. The nightmares often kept her awake.

Anastasia was carrying Popplio in a hugging hold, not wanting it to wander off when Tony called out to her. As she approached with prim and proper steps, it became clear that both she and Popplio look tired.]

Tony...? You really came for me.

[Well, he really doesn't want to leave her alone after that video chat. However, he is surprised that she looks somehow exhausted for some reason. Heck, he can even see how tired her Popplio is.]

Yeah, I promised, didn't I?

But are you okay? You looked like you've been in a forest lately.

[Anastasia finds that to be a charming trait. She felt fortunate to have met him.

She nods at him.]

I got lost... I tried finding a short cut and it didn't end well.

[It was only partially true. She did go into the woods to hide while she rests in between nightmares. She forgot which way she came a couple of times.]

[Judging by her words, he can tell that she has a hard time on her travels. He can't blame her as he also has his share of troubles ever since he started his journey.]

Ouch...

Well, at least it's a good thing that I'm here. I don't have many experiences yet, but all I can do is to help you out about your Pokemon and how you can travel safely.

I appreciate any help you can give me. When shall we begin?

[Her smile took some effort, and she really seems to prefer getting on with the day rather than try to nap her fatigue away.]

Well, did you get some Pokemon on the way here?

[If she didn't, he might start there.]

Um, no, I have not.

[She saw some, but didn't engage them. She was afraid of Popplio getting hurt.]

Okay...

[Looks like he knows where to start.]

Guess that means you have some trouble on capturing them or is it something else?

[There was a long pause while she debates on lying or telling the truth.]

[Tony is surprised at her answer to why she didn't capture one. Then again, she did say she is a princess from her world, so she might be a damsel-in-distress-type of princess of some sort.]

Oh... So you're afraid about those Pokemon attacking you or your Popplio, right?

[She nods. Though she is far more than she seems, being meek is part of her charm. Her overall feelings are genuine.]

Yes... And of accidentally hurting them too. Except for the big, green spiders... They are just scary...

[That makes sense (as well with those green spiders she mentioned). The main point of capturing a Pokemon is to weaken it before throwing a Poke Ball. And considering how she worries about hurting him, he feels that this might be difficult for her to do so.]

Oh, okay... And I'm guessing you're worried that they will hate you if you battle and capture them or unable to heal their injuries.

Yes, I think that summarises my feelings. Though, I'm just afraid of hurting them...

Okay. Well, avoiding them with Repels should be a good idea if you don't want to fight them. But I think you can heal the ones you captured with some Potions and other medicines the Poke Mart is selling.

Heck, I even bought most of them before I even arrived here.

[She hesitates for a moment.]

I did not know that, so I spent my money on extra rations for myself and Popplio.

[And maybe a brush. She wants to keep her hair tidy. She kept some of the money, though.]

Then if you want some more money, you can battle some trainers. But I doubt it since you only get little of the money from them.

Also, you can get a part-time job. Honestly, it's very hard, but I did earn some cash before I left there.

It all does sound very difficult...

[It's not very reassuring when she hears a boy say something is very difficult.]

Is there nothing else we can do?

[Well, talk about reluctant. But seeing how timid and worried she is to most of the Pokemon, he doubts that forcing her would be a good way to give her some trainer experience.

But he did get an idea how to do so.]

Well, I did manage to stock up on Poke Balls as well. Maybe we could go to a nearby route. That way, I can teach you how to catch and take care of Pokemon at the same time.

[It seems her Popplio fell asleep in her arms, though. At least one of them is taking advantage of some downtime.]

Cool. If you like, let's try heading over to Route 30.

Don't worry, we just need to avoid leaving Cherrygrove literally.

Oh, okay then. I am in your care now.

[Popplio yawns as it wakes up from a cat nap. It seems curious about Tony right now with the way it watched him.]

[Once she agrees to this, he then leads her to Route 30 and as he promised, he only went near the city.]

Alright! Well, we're not far away from Cherrygrove, but at least we have some chance to find some Pokemon you might be interested.

[Anastasia followed quietly until they got to route 30. She was looking around from where she stood, eyes dance across every thing she could see, keeping an eye out for any Pokémon. She didn't seem to be paying attention to Tony at the moment.]

Oh, okay... I wonder if they're watching?

I don't know, but all I know is that they tend to have a really bad timing when it comes to attacking me out of nowhere during my journey.

[Which is another reason he was stuck in one of the routes for extra days before.]

Still, I just hope we can find a Pokemon for me to teach you how to catch them.

[Just as he said this, Anastasia may notice a cat-like Pokemon wandering near the bushes as it looked left and right.]

[Anastasia did notice. It was hard not to. But the eyes. Those big, bugged out eyes. That creature must have seen some things.

And yet... She finds it somewhat endearing...]

Tony, over there... [She frees an additional to point.] Is that one?

[When Anastasia notices the cat-like Pokemon, Tony turns around and sees it before he stares in awe.]

Yeah, that's it!

What is it?

[A good look at his Pokegear's Pokedex feature gives him an idea on what Pokemon it was.]

An Espurr? And it's a Psychic-type.

Well, other than that, at least I have a good example of capturing Pokemon. Now, are you ready to watch?

[A Psychic type? Anastasia wonders what exactly that is. Water type is rather self-explanatory, but Psychic type is harder to imagine.

She nodded upon his question.]

Yes, I'm ready.

Alright! Noise, you're up!

[His declaration is enough to wake his sleeping bat up as he flies from his head and cries in determination.]

As you already aware, you have to battle it so it's weak enough for you to catch it. Now Noise, use Tackle!

[With that, he spent a few minutes of battling with the Espurr and because of Noise's level, he just used two Tackles on the low-leveled Pokemon. When he sees how weakened Espurr is, he pulls out his Poke Ball.]

Alright, after you weaken it, just throw the Poke Ball like this!

[He then throws the ball to the Psychic-type Pokemon, which it absorbs Espurr into it and with three shakes, it then makes a clicking sound, signaling that the Pokemon is officially caught.]

[As the battle began, Anastasia couldn't bring herself to watch, but she did see the Espurr get pulled into the ball in such a weird way. Like it became a cloud of energy and sucked inside.]

Oh my... Are you certain it's going to be okay? It really just... I cannot even describe it.

((OOC: Much busy. So work. Very no time. Wow. Sorry. :( ))

Nah, don't worry about it.

[He then opens the Poke Ball to release the newly caught Espurr and pulls out one of his Potions.]

If you want, just give this little guy a spritz of this stuff.

[He didn't use a Potion before, but he did saw a trainer using it in one of their Pokemon. And with one spritz, the Espurr cried a bit before it sighs in relief.]

See? The main point of capturing a Pokemon is to weaken it, not to knock it out. Plus, you can use these to heal them after the battle. Although, this stuff can only be used once.

[When the Espurr cried, her heart urges her to reach out and hold the cutie. But she resisted long enough to see it will be okay.]

But a bottle of that size should have more than one use... How is it only good for one use?

[She is certain many of her citizens in the capital's Market District would have a problem with that. Then again, she's a Princess, not a business tycoon.]

As for capturing, can I capture this Espurr...? or do I have to go out there and look for another one?

Well, it depends on how bad the wound is. I usually save a few squirts for anyone who might get completely hurt.

[Though in his defense, he usually used his Potions after every battle, no matter if it's a trainer or a wild Pokemon.]

Don't need to.

[He not only lets Anastasia takes a good look on the Psychic-type but also tosses the Poke Ball he used on Espurr to her.]

[Anastasia nodded in agreement. It seems like the logical way to go to save on money and medicine.

She then made a curious sound when he said she didn't need to. And that's when disaster happened. She was still holding Popplio! When she saw the ball flying at her, she only had a moment to react.

With a gasp, she raised her arms and caught the ball, but she dropped Popplio in the process, the little sea lion hitting the ground with a thud and spitting out some bubbles on impact.]

Oh no! I'm so sorry, Poppy!
Liiii...

[Yikes! That is much better in his head...]

Oh man, is your Popplio okay?!

[Anastasia knelt down to pick up and cradle her Popplio in her arms.]

It looks like it's just surprised. I don't see any scratches. At least, none that I can see...

That's a relief.

Still, I'm sorry about that...

Popplio isn't hurt, so it's okay.

[Popplio in one arm, and looking at Espurr's Pokéball in her other hand.]

So you are giving Espurr to me? Honest and truly?

Yes and yes. Besides, you need a second friend to accompany you around this world and I don't want you to get all lonely with Popplio.

Just think of it as a welcome gift from ol' Tonester.

[Speaking of Espurr, it starts to stare at its future trainer once they heard everything from Tony. And judging by its (creepy) look, it seems that they agree on his idea as it cries happily to the princess.]

[Anastasia let her Popplio on the ground so it can converse with Espurr. Pokemon language is so weird.

Meanwhile, Anastasia looked at Tony, tilting her head to the side slightly inquisitively.]

...Ol' Tonester... What's that?

[While the humans are talking, Espurr begins to chat with Popplio and judging by its reaction, they're very happy that the trainer he generous enough to capture it for this young girl.]

My nickname. But you can still call me Tony if you prefer that way.

Umm, yes. I will refer to you as Tony. I think it's easier to say.

[She ought to thank him properly for teaching her how to catch a pokemon. Being gifted an Espurr was very kind and sweet, but she doesn't know what would be proper.]

I suppose I should thank you for Espurr. But I don't know how I can at this time.

Hey, don't worry about it! Besides, we're friends, aren't we?

Yes, we are. But still. I would show my thanks if I could.

[Well, he hates to be rude in front of a lady, so it's better not to pass on that offer.]
