[ ACTION > DEPARTMENT STORE ]

Big department stores like this weren't exactly mind-blowing to Ash. What was however, was the fact that he might be able to afford this shit, and so much of it was geared towards Pokemon. He had no idea Pokemon could evolve using items, or could learn attacks through...discs? As he wanders around, looking at everything very curiously and noting the prices, he's accompanied by his Kirlia and his Eevee. Diarmuid is also taking in all the items and sights...but is also keeping an eye on Macavity, who keeps trying to get behind the counters and display cases. Only to be caught and levitated to sit in the hood of Ash's jacket.
"Hey, dya know what Pokemon evolve using this stuff? I know about Eevees- Macavity stay put will ya? - but I dunno what else does?"


[ ACTION > ROOFTOPS ]

Ash stretched his hands over his head, beaming. They'd finally made it to the city and he was ...'admiring the architecture'. More accurately, he was taking a good look at where he could jump up and get access to the roofs. He soon found a place and stretched, making sure his backpack was secure and checking his laces. Danny copied his stretching to a tee as Fionn watched curiously. He hadn't taken part to parkouring before. And Ash began to run, keeping an easy pace as he hauled himself up onto the roofs, eagerly followed by cheerful Danny and a curious Fionn.

[ Hey! We just hit the city!! :D We're looking for the inn right now...and YOU if you wanna say hi! I get if you're busy today though. We'll see you soon either way, yeah? ]

Since arriving, Ash had texted certain friends of his who he knew to be in the city in the hopes of meeting up with them soon. And well...he might be on the lookout for them too as he wanders around. With Danny at his side, using his aura to feel out the city, they were both enjoying the scenery and getting to know their way around while getting eye, ear and aura sense out for their friends.

Noctis had gotten Ash's message and after sending out a reply--I'll be on the streets once I'm done with work! I'll keep an eye out for you!--he'd finished up his shift at the Inn with a renewed spirit. He hadn't gotten to see Ash and his crew since Prom and while they did talk all the time, it was going to be great to see them.

Clocking out, Noctis had darted outside and immediately released Bean and Shepard, both looking equally as excited as their trainer. Carbuncle poked his head up and out of Noct's jacket, chirping in delight though he really had no idea why everyone was so excited.

Something good was going on!

Shepard immediately set to tracking, leading her companions along the streets in a search for Ash and Danny.

As they turned a corner, Danny suddenly thrust his arm out to stop Ash. He could sense someone! He gave an excited boof and tore off, Ash quickly giving chase. "Hey, Danny, wait up-!"

Danny only paused occasionally to focus, getting a sense of his friends before taking off again. Ash bumped into him, accidentally dropping a pokeball and releasing Macavity, who gave an eager cry - before being scooped up and carried as Ash kept up with Danny. EXCITING! But then Danny cheated and took off down an alley, easily leaping over the dead-end to get tot he other side. Ash groaned. He could clear it but not with Macavity in his hands...

Skidding around a corner, Danny gave a cheer as he found them! "Bean!" He shouted, dashing over and sliding to a stop. He completely ignored everyone else to take Bean's paw and kiss it, winking up to her. "It's been too long!"

Shepard had been leading them towards the corner that Danny came around, the Lycaroc sidestepping just in time to give the Lucario a clear path to his lady as she let out a muffled snicked. Said Snorlax brightened at the sight of Danny, letting him take her paw before she leaned down to bump their heads together.

"Way too long. It's good to see you," she rumbled back before she was promptly scooping him up to hug him properly.

"Danny!" Noctis greeted as he caught up to them only to pause and glance around as Carbuncle let out a happy twill in greeting. "Where's Ash?"

Danny's tail wagged as he was gently headbutted and then hugged, returning the embrace gleefully.

Wait, someone was talking to him. Glancing at Noctis he gestured behin- wait wasn't Ash there a moment ago? ...oh well. He'll get there eventually. Now let him resume hugging Bean.

A few minutes later and Ash does appear in sight of Shepard, panting a little from trying to keep up with Danny. He recognised Shepard's sweet hat and cape combo and waved to him. "Hey! Where's Noctis at?" Macavity chirped, now riding his shoulder and twitching his ears. Their friend ran off! Have you seen him?

Playfully rolling his eyes, Noctis stepped past the reunited duo as Carbuncle let out a curious twill. Bean ignored them completely in favor of hugging Danny close, practically cradling him in one arm as she did it.

"Lovebirds," he drawled, grinning at his Eevee as he started down the sidewalk towards Shepard who immediately perked up at the sound of footsteps and panting. A wide canine-grin appeared as she recognized Ash, letting out a growled-bark before pointing back to her trainer.

"Ash! Hey!" Noctis called, lighting up at the sight of his friend as he lifted his braced hand in a wave.

Danny didn't care. He's getting hugged by the strongest woman in town! Given she's holding him in one arm while he's got both arms wrapped around her neck.

"Hey!" Ash beamed, getting his breath back. "I take it Danny came past? Man, it's grea tto see you all again!" Macavity gasped upon seeing Carbuncle. Another Eevee! He leaned off Ash's shoulder to try and get a closer look, trilling curiously.

[Anthy had gotten Ash's text, of course - and it had pleased her to see that he'd made it safely. She takes a moment to stop by the cafe she'd come to frequent, picking up what little she could afford with her truncated pay - namely, two small cups of hot tea to go - and goes in search of him, Junior holding the second cup with his tail hand as he perches on her shoulder. Girls with purple hair and dark skin aren't exactly a super common thing, so for the first time in her life Anthy is hoping she stands out as she looks for Ash, eyes wide and alert.]

Even if she hadn't stood out physically, Danny had the advance of sensing her aura. He gasped and patted Ash's side (he wasn't going to tear off since it wasn't to Bean), leading him towards the source of the aura. Ash grinned when he saw Anthy, waving and calling through the crowd, Danny joining him in a happy bark. "Hey! Anthy!"

He approached with an easy smile. It was great to see her, and she looked like she was doing alright! He nodded to Junior too. "How are the two of ya?"

[She beams, somewhat genuinely, at the sight of her friend. There's a lot more ease to Anthy's body language than compared to how she was at prom. Junior chirps happily, holding the cup of tea out to the man.]

We're doing fine. I got your text...and brought you tea. I hope you don't mind.

"Oh! I'd never mind being given tea." He smiled warmly. "Thank you - and you too - What kind is it? And what have you been up to?" While he was used to earl grey, he knew there were a ton of fancy teas out int he world, especially in fancy coffee shops like Staryubucks. He held the cup in a 'cheers' gesture to Junior, taking a sip.

Danny waved up to Junior too, holding his paw up for a high five.

It's just black tea. I put a little cream and sugar in there. I didn't know how much you liked, so...

[She lets Junior reach into her backpack as he pulls out...those little things of cream that don't need to stay cold and sugar packets and stirrers? Oh my gosh.]

...Junior got a little exited to stock up.

[Thankfully there is still plenty left back at the cafe. Junior waves to Danny, smiling.]

Henry didn't answer for a beat because he didn't think Ash was talking to him...but then he noticed there wasn't anybody else in this corner of the store and instantly froze up.

He'd been doing fairly well at the whole Being Social With Strangers thing at his job but now he wasn't in his scrubs and he just wanted to be invisible. The Litwick on his shoulder, however, did not.

"Wiiiick! Li'wiiick!"

"Oh..." Henry shook himself and turned from the small shelf of Fairy-Type Fancier magazines. "Well...My Pikachu needed a thunderstone to become Raichu. And my sister's growlithe will need a firestone to become Arcanine."

"Ah, I ain't got either of those. Hey buddy-ah!" That was addressed to the ADORABLE FLOATING CANDLE. Ash beamed at Boo but jolted when Macavity kicked him in the back of the head in an attempt to wiggle free. He reached behind him to pluck the Eevee and hold him in his arms, giving him a stern....ish, look. "Cut that shit out."

He looked back up at Henry. "Who's that? I ain't seen a floating candle pokemon! Closest I got is a floating pumpkin."

Henry watched the antics with a neutral expression, neither charmed or put-off. Their house had so many eevees. He'd seen it all.

"This is Boo, she's a Litwick. And kind of a stress-therapy Pokemon. If that's a thing." He lifted a hand to pinch one of Boo's tiny waxy nub paws between his fingers and give it a small shake, making her wave to Ash and his shit child. "She's not ready for a duskstone yet."

"Shit, is that kind of similar for other ghost-object Pokemon?" Did he need to ask Psychopump if she wanted one? If she needed one.

"Stress-therapy? Oh that sounds cool! I mean, back home dogs and cats could do that kind of thing...given how smart these guys are, it makes total sense. Oh wait, shit sorry- that means I shouldn't have spoken to 'em, right? Sorry." He added sheepishly. At his side, Diarmuid eyed Henry cautiously, looking between him and Boo. Macavity waved to them playfully, pawing at the air and wagging his tail.

Ash's sudden backpedaling finally got an expression out of Henry. His brows drifted upwards and then he puffed out a small laugh.

"Oh, no, she's not official. It's fine." He extended an arm to make a sort of bridge for Boo to waddle down as she made her way to the floor to greet the Eevee. Once she left Henry's palm, her flame shrank. "You can say hello. She'd love that."

"Oooh, there are a bunch of Pokemon that evolve with different rocks and acessories!" Answers a cheerful, perky goth(?). There's an Eevee on her shoulder, and a Frosslas hovering beside her. "Like, Kiki here!" She gestures to the ice Pokemon. "She needed a Dawn Stone to evolve!"

"Ohhh! Oh wow that's cool!" No pun intended. "Is there a way to look this sorta thing up? I got a bunch of Pokemon but I don't know how half of them evolve. I've just sort of like...been letting it happen when it happens? But if they need an item I figure I gotta ask in case that's how they want to be."

At his side, Dairmuid bowed politely to them both. Behind his shoulder, Macavity was still trying to slip out of it's hoodie prison. Nooooo-

"I had no idea either, most of the time." Draculaura admitted with a shrug - making the Eevee on her shoulder wiggle. "But all the stuff here was sooo pretty, I just bought it anyway and had all my 'mons wear them!" Draculaura loved to spend money on pretty things, even when she barely had any money on her. She wasn't the brightest of bulbs, yet she rarely suffered for it.

"Okay. But ur, I don't have the money to just buy all of the shite here." Unlike Draculaura, Ash was more aware of his money situation. He might buy the odd dumb thing for a laugh but given the price of half of these things, he really didn't want to buy a bunch of shit he couldn't use. Or that his Pokemon might turn their nose up at.

Behind him, Macavity finally managed to get his footing and flop over his shoulder, ears twitching.

"Oh, you don't have enough cash?" Draculaura asked. "That's easy enough! Just get yourself a Meowth, and have it learn Pay Day! Then you'll be rolling in extra dough!"

<sub>[It's been one HECK of an exhausting month-- who knew performing constantly could be so tiring?]

[It is honestly extremely tempting just to go straight home and pass out face-down on the sofa the second she gets a free afternoon... but then again, they're leaving for Kanto at the end of the month. Who knows when she'd next get the chance to do this?]

[While Ashley is RUNNING HIS LITTLE HEART OUT, he will quite suddenly (but hopefully not literally) stumble across a pair of legs sticking out from behind a corner. The legs are attached to Heather, who apparently was doing more or less what Ashley was and found a nice spot to sit between runs.]

Thankfully, having an aura dog for a running partner meant he was at least somewhat less likely to eat shit by crashing into people. Danny gave a bark in warning, easily leaping over Heather's legs and immediately ducking to the side of the Pidgeot. Ash followed but pittered to a stop, curious about the first person he had met up here.

"Oh, hey!" Hey Anti-Ghost girl and BIG BIRD. Fionn fluttered to his shoulder, immediately fluffing up when he saw the Pidgeot and clearly trying to draw himself up big and imposing. Danny had gone on, but quickly realised Ash had stopped and returned to his side with a curious boof.

She literally had a french-fry like HALFWAY INTO HER MOUTH when the sudden Ash appeared, and she blinks up at him for a couple of seconds before saying--

"... Uh, wow. I don't usually see anybody else up here but me."

The BIG BIRD fortunately doesn't seem particularly aggressive-- his fluff was for theatrical purposes only! He tilts his head, leaning in to investigate both Danny and Fionn curiously.

"I just got into town! Figured I'd get to know the place." Yes, because that explains why he's running on rooftops like a more mundane, less '90's rad' Sonic the Hedgehog. "Did you get up here yourself or did you catch a ride? - Hey, mate."

Ash greeted the Pidgeot warmly, although Fionn immediately hissed and leaned forward, looking for a fight. He pushed the little bird back on his shoulder, muttering to him in Irish. It didn't defluff Rufflet tho. Danny was more hospitable, waving to the Pidgeot and giving him a wink. "Sorry, he's ur...he's got a history." Ash explained sheepishly at Fionn's hostile behaviour.
