[The feed opens today to Ryner, sitting at his desk, rubbing his temples with his fingers as though nursing a headache. Not that this particular mage finding something bothersome like this is any surprise, mind you, but.]

...49 eggs.

[He turns the camera to show off a pile of eggs behind him. A Clefairy stands next to them, looking incredibly pleased.]

They do realize, right? I can't stop them from making eggs or anything, but they have to realize that it's a lot easier to deal with them when there are fewer, right? Something like a dozen would be a lot more reasonable.

But 49? Really?

[He gives a pointed glance at the Clefairy, who just chirps cheerfully. She asked so many to participate so that there'd be more variety, Dear Partner~

The world's most reluctant breeder, everyone.]

...Anyway, they're for sale. I'll attach a list, with the egg moves I figure they've probably got if the books are right. Rose wants more for the Absol eggs than the others, probably because of how many TMs Dusk and Jehra know, but you can probably convince her to give you a discount. I don't really care about the money, myself.

[Even after the video comes on Newt is quiet for a moment as he looks the list over, Salazar--his Noibat friend--actually perched on his shoulder for once rather than clinging to his back. (It might have something to do with the Poffin that he's munching on. The bat let's out a garbled sound and Newt glances at him with a gentle but still scolding look.]

What have we talked about in regards to talking with our mouths full?

[Salazar huffs but quietly goes back to eating as Newt finally focuses on the 'gear, a small smile appearing.]

It seems things have gotten quite interesting for you since we last spoke, Ryner.

[Okay, that gets Ryner to smile a little bit too, for a moment anyway.]

Interesting's one word for it. This isn't the first time they've done this, and I guess I should be grateful they don't do it more often. It's one of the bigger batches they've had, though.

I thought my current predicament was a large one. I dare say you're companions have had nearly double what mine did.

[But, let's be honest, that's probably going to change in the future with how many Pokemon he's taking in.]

If it would be alright, I think an Absol would be a wonderful companion to have. And I have heard quite a bit about the various fossil Pokemon, so if it wouldn't be too much trouble to adopt the Archen egg as well, I would gladly take them.

[The hilarious thing is, this isn't even half of the total potential eggs that Ryner and Sion's team could make at once.]

I'm pretty sure this isn't the largest batch they've had... Definitely one of the larger ones, but.

There was just something off with how Ignis acted towards him so maybe this would help smooth it over?

Haze Conflict himself, Ash's new Fennekin, was curled up in his arms as he whispered into the Gear. They were taking a brief stop and he wanted to keep his voice quiet so they didn't realise what he was up to. ]

Hey, can I ask a bit about the Honedge and the Absol? I looked up a bit about them but they're gonna be presents, so i wanted to know a bit more. What are they like? I mean, are they friendly? protective?

Absols are definitely protective, and incredibly loyal. They can sense disaster before it's going to happen, and they'll try to warn you as best they can. Even if some people take it the wrong way sometimes. But there are few Pokemon I'd trust more than Jehra to have my back, and I know Sion feels similarly about Dusk.

Honedge... Well, I mean, they're Ghost types, so take that as you will. Sion and Roland kind of got off on the wrong foot at first, honestly, but over the years they've gotten a lot closer. Definitely reliable, though. There's some stuff from my research that says that their evolutions can tell when people have the traits of true royalty, but I'm pretty sure that's the Pokedex embellishing things.

[...Okay, maybe he's kidding about the whole implying Sion doesn't have royal traits thing. Not that he blames Sion entirely regarding how that first encounter with Roland went down, now that... well, now that he knows more than he did back then.]

I'll take one of each, if that's alright and all! Is there anything I should like, tell my friends when I give them the eggs? I kinda want it to be a surprise but I don't want to drop them into something that needs special care without a heads up. My friend actually gave me a surprise egg just the other day- [ He lifted up Haze Conflict, who stirred and blinked up at Ash with a yawn, before peeking at the Gear. ] - and I wanna repay him! And we're traveling with his other friend so I didn't want him to be left out either.

Sure, I can send them to you. I don't think there's anything in particular you need to warn them about, unless one of them has issues with ghosts, swords, or ghost swords.

...Well, that, and don't touch the tassle, but that's more a safety precaution than anything.

[49 eggs? That's so many, Elsa can't help but quietly sympathize for him. She can't imagine having that many potential Pokemon to look out for- but she isn't exactly in the market for new Pokemon. She's recently caught Bounsweet, her second Pokemon ever, and she's already feeling like two are a lot.

That is, until she happens to catch a reply to someone else about how Absol are protective and loyal and can sense disaster. Those are traits that have her intrigued.]

You mentioned to someone else that Absol can sense disasters. Can you tell me more? And how do people take it the wrong way? If it can sense those things, shouldn't people appreciate it?

Ahh, it's like I said. They have this ability innately that they can sense when disasters are going to happen. Both natural and... well, Jehra could tell some stuff was going to happen years before it had the chance to, so. In the wild, they usually live secluded lives, but they come out when they sense disaster in order to warn people.

But years ago, before that was really understood, a lot of people thought that they brought the disasters with them, instead, so they were kind of hated because of that assumption. Which is dumb, but that's kind of how people tend to be.

[You can bet Elsa fully understands that resigned tone. She's... not surprised, now that she knows the full story behind Absol. It tugs at her heart, because it's something she can relate to, which pushes her towards wanting one even more.]

I think I gave a few of the eggs I had from my Rhyhorn to the Police Academy over here in Kanto... Maybe you could try there? They seem to always be looking for new partners for their cadets.

Deerling are like deer. Grass/Normal types. They change their coloration depending on the season, too. Their evolution is called Sawsbuck, which also changes based on the season, but a little more, because they get antlers.
