[Indeed Cecil should have, if the colorful blanket of leaves covering the whole garden is any indication. It clashes terribly with the small flock of Duckletts napping there, too.]

Would anyone in the vicinity of route 7 be interested in helping me rake this mess? You'd be compensated for your time and work, of course. You'd also have access to an excellent bird-watching spot.

Sadly I'm in Goldenrod. I could take a train but it'd still be a few hours until I arrive.

Considering the amount of leaves I have to deal with, I've no doubt there'd be plenty left even then. Even more have yet to fall, though that'll surely take no more than a week or two.

Using Flying-types to clear the ground would normally be a good idea, and so would be leaving them alone, but the pathways beneath are somewhat slippery and breakable. I'd not want them to be damaged or to cause accidents.

Our instructor would sometimes make us spread sand around the training grounds if they were too slippery with ice. That might help once you get the leaves cleared away.

Sand would scratch the glass panels, I fear. But I'll have to remember to spread some near the main entrance after the first frost. I'd like to give challengers a good battle, not a broken leg.

[And anyway it'll give him a little time to size up the gym and the man in charge of it, which couldn't hurt. His impression of Cecil so far has always been positive, but they haven't had extensive interactions. Certainly not enough for him to get a read on how Cecil might be in battle.]
