[There's a blurry white blob when the video opens, chittering as it backs away. Finally in focus, anyone watching is treated to a chipper Pachirisu munching on a Poffin. A Hoppip slowly slides into view, eyeing the Poffin hungrily. In the background, an Eevee tries to coax a Litwick to come closer all while a smiling blond shuffles in and plops down on the ground.]

Fulgur, I know you stole that from Kirby. Give it back. [He says this with a chuckle, knowing that soon the two of them will be off having a tug-of-war over what's left of the treat. The Hoppip really should know by now that he needs to keep an eye on his food at all times, but Prompto's pretty sure this is his way of initiating a game.]

S-sorry everyone. Can't let him get away with grabbing other people's food all the time. So yea, it's been a while. I'm glad that weird forest is gone, n' I'm sure a lot of you are happy about that too. Did anyone else have a crazy weekend?

[Fulgur and Hoppip started their fight for food (it's not like Prompto doesn't have more, but in Kirby's mind it's the principle of the thing) on-screen and have since darted off to continue battling for the tasty morsel. The Eevee and Litwick are closer now, the latter looking more hesitant with each step but continuing to get nearer to the blond trainer and the Eevee chirps merrily, apparently pleased at the Litwick's decision to join their trainer.]

We're in Goldenrod now, not sure for how long but probably a while - I have a new friend to meet up with and Iggy mentioned camera shopping, which will take time. Speaking of cameras [He turns to scoop the Litwick up and sweetly scratch the Eevee's ears] this little lady has been great at helping me get some awesome night shots on the 'gear. But I do really miss having a camera, and I'm sure Lux and Pryna will help me test all the ones that look good.

Ugh, I keep going off on tangents. So, uh, if I do end up getting a camera... is there anyone who'd want, like, portraits of their Pokemon or their team or somethin'? Tryin' to figure out a way to earn some extra money and photography is pretty much the one thing I'm good at other than shooting.

[Maybe there are other odd jobs he can try taking up for now to help get money for a camera. It wouldn't be fair for Ignis to be the only one of them working, and Prompto needed to get his own money anyway.]

Well, that was long and rambling. Just wanted to pop on here and say hello again now that things are back to normal. Sorry it's been so long. Had to recharge a little. Promise to pop back up sooner next time!

[With a jaunty one-armed wave, Prompto hugs Lux closer and winds up toppling over as Pryna jumps in on the hug and overbalances him. The video cuts out with Prompto on his side, smiling widely with two Pokemon nestled in his arms, a slight green blur in the corner of the screen the only indication that it's likely the Hoppip that ended the transmission.]

[Ash wants to see him? He could understand the guy wanting to see Iggy, since the two of them had been traveling together before, but ... him? It's not like he's the same Prompto that was here before. It's kind of nice though - he was really hoping to connect with Noct's new (well, new to Prompto) friend and it seems like they might just do that.]

That's awesome! And it's super cute that your starters are dating. I hope you don't mind sharing him as a best friend though... he's been my best friend since high school. [He leaves out the part about Noct being his only friend until he got closer to Iggy and Gladio, not wanting to scare off this potential new friend with his shitty sob story.]

Oh there's definitely plenty I can tell you about what we used to get up to. As for how we met, well ... I sort of knew him in grade school but kept my distance for ... personal reasons... By the time high school rolled around I decided to try being friends with him and we've been besties ever since! I managed to earn a spot in his Crownsguard too, though I still think he pulled some strings for that one.

I wonder if your Eevee will get along with mine. Pryna's my starter and she's the best Eevee in the world. But I'm probably biased.

[ Ash pretended to think for a bit before giving Prompto a laidback smile ] I mean, I guess we can share. I ain't feeling up to a deathmatch over Noctis today. But man, that's cool you're known each other for so long and ended up being best mates!

Oh, dya wanna meet Macavity? He's evolved from being an Eevee so we can agree that Pryna's the best Eevee and he won't take offense! Hey! Macavity! Tar anseo!

[ Ash using Irish with his Pokemon sure was a thing he'd need to explain to Prompto someday. A shiny Umbreon answered him, jumping onto his lap and looking into the camera. Hello! Ash grinned and introduced the pair of them to each other ]

This is Macavity, my Umbreon! Macavity, this is Prompto. [ Macavity trilled and wagged his tail. ]

Never thought I'd have joint custody of my bestie. How do you wanna divide the time? [He's laughing as he says it, happy that this Ash guy is so chill. And definitely enjoying the humor.]

H-hi Macavity! You're a handsome one! Y-you wanna see Pryna? [Prompto turns to look behind him and he calls out, voice carrying to the patch of grass Pryna is napping in as Lux keeps watch and weaves a flower crown.] Pryna! C'mere! Noct's friend Ash and his Umbreon, Macavity, wanna meet you!!

[With a happy chirp, Pryna opens her eyes and bounds towards her trainer, gently nosing Lux in thanks for the flowers now gracing her head. She continues her chirping as she leaps into Prompto's lap, her all-white tail wagging with glee.]

"Hello Macavity! I'm Pryna! It's nice that your trainer is getting along with my trainer."

H-heh so this is Pryna. An' it looks like she's gotten another flower crown! [He is positively beaming, always warmed by the silly sight of his Eevee with flowers adorning her. Especially when the flowers came from other Pokemon in his team.]

Hey, what was that language you used? It's definitely not one I know.

[ Ash couldn't help but laugh, imagining them deciding who'd get to have Noctis on weekends or on holidays. He pet Macavity as the Umbreon trilled in a very friendly, warm way towards the Eevee ]

Hello Pryna! It is nice! And your trainer is friends with Noctis, right? He has my brother, Carbuncle, with him! If you want, we'll teach you stuff!
Hey Pryna! Aren't you a sweet looking cutie?

Oh that? That's Irish. [ He suddenly remembers explaining this to Noctis and smiles ] The place I come from is entirely different to yours, so like; there's these two islands that are side by side. One is called Ireland - that's where my Dad is from - and one is Britain, which is where I was born and raised. In Ireland, they speak a different language. It's not used much or at all in Britain, but my dad taught it to me because he missed using it. So we use it at home! And now that I'm here, nobody else even knows it exists, so I use it with my Pokemon.

[ It had also proven useful in battle; Ash trained his Pokemon exclusively in Irish. So when he gave them commands, other people couldn't understand or prepare for whatever attack he's called out to them. ]

Oh! Sort of like how we have Galahd and Niflheim and their languages. Cool! [While Prompto gushes about different languages in different worlds, Pryna's preening at Ash's compliment and she gives a cheery trill.]

Yes, he is best friends with Noctis! Well, they were close in their home. I think they're still friends here too, but Prompto is sad they haven't had time to talk yet. You have a brother? Is he an Umbreon like you? Oh, I'd love to learn anything I can!

[The small Eevee is clearly excited and is chittering away, telling Umbra all about her trainer and pausing only to jostle the flowers on her head every so often. Prompto, not wanting to dislodge Pryna despite her constant chatter, simply laughs and tries to make plans with Ash.]

Seems like they're getting along well, huh? They'll be thick as thieves when they meet face to face, for sure. Uh, would you wanna meet up when you're here? You can shoot me a message when you want and we can go from there? If anything, these two have to get together and it would be really great to meet you too...

Of course! I imagine you've seen all of Goldenrod by now but we cant rade stories about our homes, if you're alright witht hat, and I can show you some of the Pokemon I got. Macavity here isn't the first one I got actually. And I've got quite a few to be honest...

[ 'Quite a few' meaning 'A LOT'. As he smiled sheepishly, Macavity smiled more brightly, blue markings glowing in a friendly ebb. ]

No, my brother is an Espeon! He's bright green too, so you can always find him. We evolved these ways cos we became best friends with our trainers. Carbuncle did that during the day, so he became an Espeon - I did it at night, which is why I'm an Umbreon! Where did you get your flowers? They're very pretty.

[ He wanted to encourage his new little sister! ]

Oh that's wonderful! My trainer and I are really close already, I wonder if we'll become best friends. And I'll have to tell Lux you like the flowers. She's a Litwick and she likes to make flower crowns and stuff for me. Sometimes for Prompto too! They smell so nice and make my trainer smile!

[Pryna is chirping happily as she talks with Macavity, prompting Prompto to gently scratch behind her ears with a smile of his own. He's careful not to dislodge her newest flower crown.]

I've seen a fair bit of it, yea, but I don't mind wandering around wherever. And I'd love to meet more of your Pokemon.

[The sheepish grin isn't lost on him, so he asks.]

How many is 'quite a few'?

Ur...well, how do I put this.

[ God why did Prompto have to outright ask that? Ash ruffled his hair ] I got about...forty. But Noctis ain't any better! [ CLEARLY, GETTING NOCTIS INTO TROUBLE TOO WILL HELP ] He's got a ton of Pokemon too, some of em even the same species! I mean...I got that too but I only got like, four from the same evolution line, he's got an entire school of Magikarp! He's basically the Headmaster of the Magikarp School for the Gifted and Talented! He's constantly fishing and getting more of em too. He's trying to be King of the Seas or something!

[ As Ash is rambling a mile a minute, Macavity is beaming at Pryna ]

Ooo, can she make me one too maybe? Flower crowns are awesome! And I bet the two of you will be best friends! It just takes time to be friends, and then best friends.

[Prompto's jaw drops when Ash says how many Pokemon he has. Forty?! That's ... that's practically an entire zoo. And of course Noct has just as many, if not more.

And of course they're fish.]

Damn, Ash. Save some Pokemon for the rest of us, yea? Nice job throwing Noct under the bus. Pretty sure that'll shave some holidays off of your allotted bestie time. S'not surprising he's got a lot of 'em, and less surprising that he's got a bunch of fish. He is 'Noct Gar' after all. Fishing's what he does best. Other than sleeping. [A wistful smile crosses his face, remembering all the shots he got of Noct fishing off of whatever beaches and piers they could find.

Pryna is busy smiling and chattering with Macavity, but she senses the mild melancholy of her trainer and flicks him with her tail before wrapping it around his hand.]

Oh I bet she'd love to! She's shy, but she really likes giving things. Since she sometimes has to take them and she doesn't like doing that. You know that means we have to make sure our trainers hang out more often, right? Lux only comes out of her Pokeball when we're settled somewhere, so she really doesn't wander around with Prompto like I do.

Maybe we can visit you at your home?!

Look, he's hard, he can handle a bus running by. I bet he won't even have any tire marks left on his pretty face once it's gone by. I didn't realise he was so fishing mad when I first met him but Jesus, I'm surprised he didn't get a houseboat when we were looking into housing and all that. I told him I didn't know how to fish and he looked like I'd told him I'd didn't know how to read!

[ ...yeah he hasn't realised he's just called Noctis 'pretty'. Besides, if anyone can tease their friends, it's their best friends, right? Meanwhile Macavity is loving Pryna. She's lovely! He wants to adopt her and teach her everything he knows. ]

I hope so! There's lots of friends here in my team, and we live nearby Noctis and Carbuncle! So you HAVE to come here! I'd love to meet Lux - she wouldn't have to give me anything, if she needs to borrow something.

Dude, nothing stays on that face of his. It's so unfair. [Prompto laughs glibly, thinking back on all the times he wished that perfect skin would get just one zit or something. Just a small one.]

I spent so many days wondering how he kept his skin so perfect. It's ridiculous, right? And dude, be happy he's still friends with you after you said something like that. Not knowing how to fish is practically blasphemy, man! [He's enjoying ribbing Ash, feeling as though they were kindred spirits in a way.

He ignores the twinge he feels when Ash calls Noct pretty. That ship sailed before they left for their road trip. He hadn't been good enough for Noctis then, and he wasn't what Noctis needed now. Especially with what he learned about himself thanks to Ardyn. Shit, he's pretty sure he's not good enough for the guy he's crushing on now.

Instead, he reaches out to scratch Pryna's ears and smiles. At least he's mostly good enough for friends, and good enough for his best girl. Who is definitely completely taken by Macavity, or so it appears.]

Oh we'll go visit for sure! And she'll make you as many as you want. She's super good at flower crowns and necklaces and bracelets. She likes to make them so our life energy comes back faster if she has to use it, even though she rarely does. She's so shy and keeps her flame small and dim unless we really need light.

We're really close, and she makes me tons of flower crowns. And she even lets me curl around her sometimes when Prompto convinces her to sleep outside her ball! You'll love her. Everyone does.

[ Ash 'pfff'd about the fishing thing ] Man, I grew up in a city where the water was basically sludge. You'd only fish up trash if you took a road to the river. Half the reasons I chose to live right by the sea here, because it's so clean.

[ He gave a casual shrug. Such had been life in London. Macavity was wagging his tail, blue rings glowing happily. ]

That'd be awesome! I bet I will like her. Ash has so many Pokemon, it's impossible to not find one who you'll also be friends with. I'm best friends with Kinnagoe, Ash's Zoroark. He can disguise his appearance to look like other Pokemon, or even people!

That sounds ... gross as hell, dude. [Insomnia wasn't exactly a sparkling city, but at least the small ponds in the parks were clean. And the waters of Lucis had also been free of sludge and other nastiness like it.] Glad you can experience the joys of clean water here, though!

[He cringes when he realizes that he basically just insulted the guy's home and he hadn't meant to. Really! Sometimes he just ... puts his foot in his mouth.]

Really?! I can't wait to meet them all! But maybe not all at once... that would overwhelm a lot of them. And Prompto too.

Kinnagoe sounds neat! Is there any way to tell him apart from the real person or Pokemon?

[ OH DON'T WORRY PROMTPO. Ash shook his head, folding his arms as he reflects on 'lovely', filthy London. ] It was gross dude...hell, we had gas masks for when the smog got too thick, or for when the acid rains came. I still have mine from home. You couldn't leave the house without it, otherwise you can get caught off guard when you're traveling or walking about. It was seriously surreal, when people told me it wasn't needed in any city or town in this world.

Nope! He's super good. He can even transform into Ash, and talk like him too!

[What the hell was a gas mask? It sounds weird and he seriously wants to see it. And Prompto can totally relate to the whole 'stuff needed at home that aren't needed here' thing.]

I hear ya on that, man. When I first got here I didn't sleep a lot during the night because I was waiting for daemons to show up. It's still weird that there's nothing dangerous here after dark.

And if you have that 'gas mask' thing here, I'd love to see it. It sounds so weird but so cool. What does it look like? Could I get some shots of you wearing it?

[Ah yes, it's the little things that can excite Prompto.]

That is a really cool ability! But let Ash tell Prompto about it before Kinnagoe shows him? Otherwise Prompto may get scared... [Oh yes, Prompto has told Pryna all about ... well ... everything. He'd talk to her all the time about lots of things, and one of those things was about a bad man named Ardyn that really hurt him. The normally sweet Eevee got an angry look in her eyes just thinking about him, and she knows that if Prompto sees Kinnagoe transform into a perfect impersonation of someone without first knowing about it, he'll get frightened.]

Or maybe have him transform when Ignis is around? Ignis will know what to do if Prompto gets scared.

[ Ash shrugged easily. It was a bit like asking him to model a coat to him, given how required they were. ]

Yeah, Noctis and Ignis mentioned the darkness over your world. I tell ya...I been here a year and it's still weird at times. That my magic isn't here in a sense, and the world is so different. Even if it's better than where I came from in lots of ways.

Does Prompto not like illusions or doubles? [ Macavity asked, tilting his head. Ash of course had no problem with it, given his background and how often he just rolled with whatever disguise Kinnagoe was wearing that day. ]

I still have to remind myself sometimes.... [That this place is different. That this place is safe.]

But it's nice... and I like it here. I mean, it brought me Pryna and I've made a cool new friend. He's a pretty chill guy, so I think you'd get along with him. [He grins like an idiot, knowing he's making a joke that's as old as it is terrible but unable to help himself.]

[Pryna looks up at her trainer, taking a second to think about how to shorten everything into something easily said. When Prompto glances down at her she gives him a little 'blep' and is rewarded with his laugh and some ear scratches. Returning her eyes to the Umbreon on the screen, she tells the condensed version to Macavity.]

Back at Prompto's home, a really mean man could change his appearance and voice too. And he did a lot of bad things to my trainer, a lot of times while looking like Prompto's friends... and the mean man made Noct push Prompto off of a moving train in order to take him and hurt him. [She won't ever go into details, but she thinks it's okay for Macavity to know at least the basics of why Prompto might not handle Kinnagoe's ability well if it surprises him.]

Please keep the specifics to yourself?

A chill guy huh? You sure he's not an arse? [ Ash smiled playfully. ] I mean, I reckon I got a new friend too. He's pretty cute, but we gotta hang out face to face sometime so I can be sure. And yeah, it's just. Kind of wild, this place.

[ Macavity considered what Pryna told him. His eyes flashed dangerously, but he nodded. ]

I'll tell Kinnagoe that your trainer has had a bad time in the past. And if you see that man...tell me. He sounds dangerous to be near anyone. [ And Macavity wouldn't let such a person near his friends, or his trainer. ]

[Prompto blushes a little at being called cute. He can't help it; turning red is his natural reaction to compliments.] H-hey I'll have you know I'm tough too!

[He's trying to look intimidating, but it's difficult to maintain a glare when you're trying not to laugh.] Yea, there's still a lot to get used to. But I think I could grow to like it. And yea, we'll definitely have to hang out soon. Gotta make sure you aren't really an ass.

[Pryna regards Macavity with serious eyes. She may be cute and sweet, but she could get vicious if she had to. If she ever saw the man that hurt Prompto, he would be sorry indeed.] Thank you. And I don't know what he looks like, but I'll make sure to find you so you can get a piece of him too if he ever comes here. But I really hope he never does.

Cute and tough. Just like my Raichu then! Don't worry, I won't tell her. She gets boisterous about competition. [ Although his Raichu was also quite chubby and Prompto seemed more stick-like. And while she wouldn't go all out on Prompto, she also had a very loose understanding of 'holding back'. ]

And yeah we totally should. You're always welcome to drop by my place. It's not super big, just big enough for me and the team.

[ Under this lighthearted chat, Macavity nodded solemnly. ] Me too. We'll protect your trainer too, if you ever need help.

[Oh a Raichu? He has to meet her now.] But she sounds so adorable! We could be part of a team, The Cutest and Toughest! The Cu-toughs!

[He uses the dorkiest team name, but says it with enthusiasm and wild hand gestures and he's wearing the biggest, cheesiest grin. Come on, Ash has to tell the Raichu that she's now on a cute/tough team with Prompto. They could recruit far and wide!] Dude, you have a place. As long as it's comfy and you like it, who cares how big it is? I bet it's great!

[Pryna smiles, grateful to have made a friend like Macavity.] That means so much to me. You're the best, Macavity. Thank you.

Look, I'll be honest; I don't want you to die. And An Tintreach could kill a man just with her hype. [ He really doesn't want to explain to Noctis that yeah, he met his friend, he was a nice guy and all, but his Raichu pile-drived his guts out. RIP Prompto, he hardly knew thee. ]

[ Macavity trilled to both Pryna and Prompto's words about their house, turning to give Ash a nuzzle. ]

"Anytime! We'll look after both of you!"
Oh yeah, it's amazing. Bigger than the place I lived in back home. So that's set then yeah? Day you get in Olivine, you're giving me a call and I'm gonna find ya!

[He heaves a dramatic sigh, secretly hoping that maybe the Raichu will at least allow a friendly, non-crushing hug or something. Though he does appreciate that Ash is looking out for his well-being. At least one of them has to, right?]

I mean ... I guess that's fair. Can't say I wanna die just yet.

[Pryna chirps joyously and leaps onto Prompto's shoulder, her tail wagging in his face and making him laugh and reach up to rearrange her so her tail can instead drape behind his neck.]

You got it, bud!

[ The Raichu will permit hugs...and squeeze as tight as possible to SHOW HER STRENGTH. She seriously has zero chill. ]

I'll try and get her to calm her tits by the time you come by!

Alright!

[An excited fist pump.]
