[The video clicks on and Cissnei sits back once the 'gear is settled, an orange and red scarf wrapped loosely around her neck as she gently holds two photographs. There's a somewhat sad smile on her face and, a rarity for the Turk, the glimmer of tears in her eyes. It takes her a moment to speak, only managing it when Reno the Vulpix twills at her and hops up beside her.]

I'm not sure who's responsible for this particular gift but I wanted to say thank you to whoever it was.

[Cissnei gestures with the photographs, her smile growing a touch.]

I had honestly forgotten all about these photos and then I wake up this morning and here they are.

[She looks down at them again as Reno peers around her arm at them.]

So whoever it is that's responsible..thank you. It means quite a bit to me.

[ Walter could see she was quite emotional. She seemed...happy, but sad, about her gift. He'd also received something unusual, but his gift sparked a swirl of memories and choking emotions.

He appeared in his home, wearing a cream turtleneck and Saint Medallion. There was something in his hands, something very very small. At his side were both Claudia and Bonfire, the two Ninetales' semi-wrapping him in their tails to help keep him warm. With the days getting darker far sooner, there was a faint glow in the room from the various fire Pokemon Walter owned. All in it all, it was a very cozy image, despite the clear thoughtfulness on Walter's face. ]

I was told that the beings that brought us here, sometimes gift us items. I think mine are from God. Last year, it was a Pokemon egg. [ He gestured to Claudia, who ducked her head and leaned against his side. The easiest way to fluster her was for Walter to bring up that she had been a gift from God. ]

...Are the pictures from your home? Of places you knew?

Tseng was one of my gifts last year, whoever it is that they're from.

[Cissnei's expression is even softer now that she's speaking to Walter, resting an arm around her Vulpix.]

They are, yes. I...the organization I was apart of, we didn't..have many personal belongings. Sentimental things. So we tended to take a lot of pictures whenever we were all together.

[She turns the pictures to show them to her friend, the one of her and Zack in the forefront.]

It's nice to have a small memory of home with me here.

[ He returned her soft smile, although his is a little more unsure. ]

...I was given this. [ He showed her the item in his hand; a small, worn doll. ]

When I was living rough, a young girl named Eileen saw me. Most over people ignored me, or warned others to stay away. She approached me and gave me this. To keep me warm. [ Absently, he brushed a finger over the doll's yarn hair. He lifted his eyes to her, curious. ]

You were not allowed to keep many things?

That's a lovely gift from home to receive.

[She was glad to hear that he had known some kindness back home. Everything she'd learned about Walter pointed to such a terrible experience otherwise.

Cissnei shook her head, glancing down at the photos.]

...I was apart of an organization called The Turks. We were something of a highly specialized investigation bureau that worked for the Shinra corporation. I grew up in the organization, never knew anything outside of it. Personal items just weren't something most of us had.

[Her voice is soft and that might even be an edge of nervousness to her voice. She had purposefully kept her origins to herself since arriving in this world, not only because it's what Turks did but because she wasn't sure how people would react.

Walter..she trusted more than most, though. And considering how honest he'd been with her, it seemed right that she finally do the same.]

[ He listened, sitting back and clearly thinking over what he's just learned. Cissnei being part of an investigation burearu...he had been harassed about his past before, by people who were 'curious' about where he'd come from. But Cissnei hadn't done that. She had never chased him down for information about his past or where he'd come from. When he told her things about himself, it was because he had wanted to.

And he could relate to growing up for an organization, with a purpose in mind that he was meant to fulfill as an adult. Thinking of the people who had raised him and what his purpose was however, sparked a worry. He lifted his eyes to her. ]

Were they kind to you, the Turks? When they raised you?

They weren't unkind. But I was trained from a young age to be an assassin and spy, so I didn't have much of a childhood. It..could have been a lot worse though, given what I know Shinra is capable of.

[Especially once she moved up in the ranks. She had been given more freedom, more trust.

All the Turks had, essentially, been the property of Shinra though.]

Being here has actually given me a chance to experience things with a much less critical eye. It's been nice.

[ He nodded. He wasn't a trained spy or assassin...just a trained murderer. And it wasn't by a group with real targets; 'sinners' was a broad brush for the Order, and for Valtiel alike. But he heard 'not unkind'. Indifferent...and he remembered the lengths he went to as a child, desperately searching and begging for any scrap of love.

But he knew better than to suggest leaving them. After all, he'd tried that with the Order. ]

I'm glad, that of all the people to be in this place, you are one of them.

[Cissnei's gaze softened.]

I feel the same about you, Walter. I'm glad you're able to be here, with your Pokemon. I'm glad I got to meet you.

[She considers you one of her close friends now.]

For as weird as the idea of different worlds is...I'm starting to feel more at home here then I ever did in my world.

Yes. It's still confusing to think about this being a different world...like something from cinema. [ Being dragged into a nightmare reality? Totally expected in his lifetime. But a world like this...he smiled, a slightly empty smile. ]

Where I came from was never home. But here with my Pokemon, it feels safe. And comfortable. That's what home is, isn't it?

I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I suppose I'm not the best person to ask but I think that qualifies.

[She smiled.]

Feeling safe is the most important thing.

Even with what has happened...I do feel safe. Safer than I ever have before.

[ And it is the greatest feeling int he world. Second or equal to being loved. ]

Good. I'm glad to hear that, Walter.
